RESUMEN

Objective:To evaluate the changes of retinal thickness, choroid thickness and choroid vascular polypoid lesions (polyps) before and after the treatment of conbercept in polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) with conbercept based on enhanced-depth imaging optical coherence tomography (EDI-OCT) and OCT angiography (OCTA).Methods:Twenty patients with PCV admitted to the ophthalmology department of the Affiliated Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Xinjiang Medical University from January 2019 to December 2020 (who had not received intravitreous injection before) were selected and given intravitreous injection of conbercept with 3+ pro re nata (PRN) treatment. The changes of visual acuity, intraocular pressure, central macular thickness (CMT), subfoveal choroidal thickness (SFCT), peripapillary choroid thickness (PCT), polyps height, and maximum cross-sectional area of polyps were observed before and after treatment. Results:There were significant difference in the best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), CMT, SFCT, PCT, polyps height and maximum polyps cross-sectional area before and after treatment in 20 patients (all P<0.05). BCVA was significantly improved at 1 week and 1 month after treatment (all P<0.05), and still improved at 6 months after treatment, but the difference was not statistically significant compared with 3 months after treatment ( P>0.05), and slightly fluctuated at 6 to 12 months after treatment, but basically stable. CMT, SFCT and PCT decreased significantly after 3 months of treatment, and were basically stable from 6 to 12 months after treatment. One month after treatment, polyps height was (251.30±57.49)μm, with a decrease of 11.3 μm; the polyps height decreased at 3, 6 and 12 months after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant (all P<0.05). The maximum cross-sectional area of polyps at 3 and 12 months after treatment was (2.10±0.44)μm 2 and (1.98±0.44)μm 2, respectively, with a certain degree of decrease, and the difference was statistically significant (all P<0.05). Conclusions:Intraocular injection of conbercept can effectively reduce CMT, SFCT, PCT, polyps height, maximum cross-sectional area of polyps and increase BCVA in PCV patients 3 months after treatment. EDI-OCT and OCTA were used to quantitatively detect the changes of PCV indexes and observe the curative effect and prognosis.

RESUMEN

AIM: To investigate the refractive status and myopia wearing rate of primary and secondary school students aged 6-18 in Yecheng county, Xinjiang.METHOD: Cross-sectional study. From October 2021 to June 2022, a stratified random sampling method was used to select 81 863 students from 51 primary schools and 30 secondary schools in Yecheng county, Kashgar Prefecture, Xinjiang. Basic data of the students were collected, and non ciliary muscle paralysis optometry was performed to detect naked eye farsightedness and corrected vision with glasses. The refractive status, glasses wearing rate, and full correction rate of students of different ages, genders, and ethnic groups were observed.RESULT: The detection rate of myopia among enrolled students was 13.39%(10958/81863), the wearing rate of glasses was 23.96%(2626/10958), and the full correction rate was 50.57%(1328/2626). The detection rate of myopia shows a certain upward trend with age, and the detection rate of myopia in girls was higher than that in boys(15.75% vs. 10.96%). The detection rates of myopia in Han, Uyghur, and other ethnic students were 68.12%, 12.63%, and 22.42%, respectively.CONCLUSION:The detection rate of myopia and glasses wearing rate were relatively low for students aged 6~18 in Yecheng county, Xinjiang, while the detection rate and glasses wearing rate of myopia among Han students were significantly higher than those of Uyghur and students of other ethnics.

RESUMEN

@#AIM: To discuss the effect of conbercept in the treatment of polypoid chorioretinopathy(PCV)and its influence on hemorheology.<p>METHODS: From January 2017 to April 2018, 62 patients with PCV were enrolled in our hospital. According to the difference of treatment, the patients were divided into two groups, 31 cases in each group. The control group was treated with rapunzumab and the observation group with conbercept. Intraocular pressure, BCVA, CMT, SFCT, hemorheology and complications were compared between the two groups. <p>RESULTS: There was no difference in intraocular pressure, BCVA, CMT and SFCT between the two groups before treatment(<i>P</i>>0.05). With the increase of time, BCVA increased, CMT and SFCT decreased in both groups(<i>P</i><0.05). BCVA, CMT and SFCT were different between the two groups(<i>P</i><0.05). There was no difference in intraocular pressure between the two groups before and after treatment(<i>P</i>>0.05). The whole blood high shear viscosity, whole blood low shear viscosity, plasma viscosity and RBC aggregation index in the observation group were lower than those before treatment and lower than those in the control group(<i>P</i><0.05), and the RBC deformation index was higher than that before treatment and higher than that in the control group(<i>P</i><0.05). There was no difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups(3% <i>vs</i> 6%, <i>P</i>>0.05).<p>CONCLUSION: The application of conbercept in PCV can improve the visual acuity, and have a good impact in the hemorheology, reduce the macular edema and other clinical symptoms, and it has high safety and no effect on intraocular pressure.

RESUMEN

@#AIM: To investigate the effect of calcium oxybenzenesulfonate dispersible tablets combined with Mingmu Dihuang pills on clinical evaluation indexes, retinal angiogenesis factors and blood lipid levels in patients with non-value-added diabetic retinopathy. <p>METHODS: Totally 100 cases of non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy(NPDR)patients treated in our hospital from January 2017 to March 2018 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into observation group(<i>n</i>=50)and control group(<i>n</i>=50). The control group was treated with calcium oxybenzosulfonate dispersible tablets, the observation group was treated with Mingmu Dihuang pills on the basis of the control group. The clinical evaluation indexes, retinal angiogenic factors and blood lipid levels of the two groups before and after treatment were observed and compared. <p>RESULTS: Before treatment, there were no significant differences in clinical evaluation indexes, retinal angiogenic factor and blood lipid levels between the two groups(<i>P</i>>0.05).After treatment, the visual field gray value, hemangioma volume, macular thickness, hemorrhage area, vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF), insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1), tissue factor(TF), total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG)and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)levels in the two groups were significantly lower than before treatment(<i>P</i><0.05). Visual acuity, pigment epithelial-derived factor(PEDF)and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)were significantly higher than before treatment(<i>P</i><0.05). The levels of VEGF, IGF-1, TF, TC, TG and LDL-C in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(<i>P</i><0.05), and the levels of visual acuity, PEDF and HDL-C were significantly higher than those in the control group(<i>P</i><0.05). <p>CONCLUSION: Calcium oxybenzosulfonate dispersible tablets combined with Mingmu Dihuang pills can significantly improve the clinical evaluation index, inhibit angiogenesis and improve the level of blood lipid.

RESUMEN

@#AIM:To explore the effects of EX-PRESS glaucoma drainage device implantation and trabectome on visual acuity, intraocular pressure, central anterior chamber depth(ACD)and postoperative complications in patients with primary open angle glaucoma(POAG)complicated with cataract. <p>METHODS: The clinical data of 64 patients(64 eyes)with POAG complicated with cataract in our hospital from March 2015 to January 2017 were retrospectively analyzed. Among them, 34 patients(34 eyes)were given EX-PRESS glaucoma drainage device implantation and cataract phacoemulsification(the Group A)and another 30 cases(30 eyes)were given trabectome combined with cataract phacoemulsification(the Group B). The visual acuity \〖best corrected visual acuity(BCVA)\〗, intraocular pressure, ACD and the thickness of macular ganglion cell complex(GCC)were compared between the two groups before operation and at 5mo after operation, and the differences of postoperative complications were also recorded between the two groups. <p>RESULTS: At 5mo after operation, the BCVA, intraocular pressure(IOP)was lower than that before operation(<i>t</i> Group A=39.359, 21.045; <i>t</i> Group B=23.126, 16.863; <i>P</i><0.01), and the Group A was lower than that in the Group B(<i>t</i>=9.452, 2.761; <i>P</i><0.01). There was no significant difference in the ACD level before and after operation between-groups and within-groups(<i>P</i>>0.05). At 5mo after operation, there was no significant difference in the thickness of macular GCC in the Group A compared with that before operation(<i>P</i>>0.05), but the thickness of macular GCC in the Group B was lower than that before operation(<i>t</i>=3.851, <i>P</i><0.05)and was lower than that in the Group A(<i>t</i>=2.269, <i>P</i><0.05). The incidence rate of postoperative complications in the Group A was significantly lower than that in the Group B(<i>χ</i>2=7.883, <i>P</i><0.05). <p>CONCLUSION: EX-PRESS glaucoma drainage device implantation or trabectome combined with cataract phacoemulsification can receive good treatment effects in treating POAG patients with cataract, but the former one has better effects on reducing IOP and improving visual acuity than those in the latter one. And EX-PRESS glaucoma drainage device implantation can reduce the incidence rate of postoperative complications, and it is also beneficial to the reduction of retinal ganglion cells(RGCs)damage and the disease prognosis.
