RESUMEN
A pesquisa por novos biomateriais procura atender uma ampla gama de indicações clínicas em um mesmo produto. Porém, nem sempre é possível indicar um mesmo biomaterial para diversas situações. Estudos recentes apontam o beta fosfato tricálcio como um substituto ósseo eficaz para defeitos ósseos de três paredes. O objetivo deste caso foi demonstrar a capacidade de neoformação óssea alcançada através da inserção do beta fosfato tricálcio em cavidade óssea em mandíbula, oriunda de lesão cística de volume extenso (4 cm x 3 cm), com envolvimento do nervo alveolar inferior esquerdo e pré-molares. Posteriormente (6 meses) ao processo de enxertia, foram instalados implantes osseointegráveis com sucesso. O paciente foi reabilitado protéticamente em três meses após a instalação dos implantes
The research for new biomaterials has the intention to meet a wide range of clinical indications in one same product. However it is not always possible to indicate the same product for different clinical situations. Recent studies have shown that beta tri-calcium phosphate has been efficient as a bone graft substitute for three walls bone defects. The objective of this clinical study was to demonstrate the capacity of osteogenesis by the insertion of beta tri-calcium phosphate in bone cavity at the mandible caused by cystic lesion with extensive volume (4 mm x 3 mm), involving the left bottom alveolar nerve and pre-molars. After 6 months of the bone graft insertion process, dental implants were installed successfully. After the implants were placed the patient has been rehabilitated with the prosthesis in 3 months
