RESUMEN
Los estudios sobre la apoptosis han experimentado un vertiginoso desarrollo en los últimos años. Con el objetivo de revisar el papel de la apoptosis en el sistema inmune y su posible relación con la autoinmunidad, se estudiaron 25 documentos referentes al tema. Se describen los factores genéticos, inductores e inhibidores de la apoptosis así como sus mecanismos bioquímicos en los linfocitos. Se hace referencia a la importancia de la muerte celular programada en el sistema inmunológico y su función en la patogenia de algunas enfermedades autoinmunes.
Apoptosis studies have progressively developed in recent years.With the objective to revise the apoptosis role of the immunological system and its possible relation with the autoimmunity, 25 documents refer to this topic, were studied. The genetic factors, inductors and inhibitors of the apoptosis, as well as its biochemical mechanisms in the lymphocytes, are described. The importance of the planned cell death in the immunological system and its function in the pathogeny of some autoimmune illnesses, are mentioned.
