RESUMEN

Twenty target compounds were synthesized by the reduction reaction of HUANG Minglong and Friedel-Crafts acylation reaction in this study. The inhibitory effects of the new compounds were tested on NO production in LPS-induced mouse macrophage RAW264.7 cells, a cellular inflammation model. The structure-activity relationships were discussed. The structures of target compounds were confirmed by ESI-MS, 1H NMR and 13C NMR. In vitro activity experiments showed that 18 compounds had certain anti-inflammatory effects at the concentration of 40 μmol·L-1, of which 9a, 8b, 7c and 9c showed strong anti-inflammatory activities, and IC50 of 7c and 9c were comparable to the positive control drug ibuprofen.

RESUMEN

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>The clinical data of dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) patients with or without pulmonary hypertension (PH) diagnosed by echocardiography were compared.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>During January 2007 to December 2009, 61 cases of DCM with PH and 51 cases of DCM without PH were admitted in our department. The demographic and clinical data, heart function, echocardiography and serum total bilirubin and creatinine levels of all patients were analyzed.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Sex, age, vital signs, combined diseases and arrhythmias as well as the serum creatinine level [(103.5 ± 49.7) µmol/L vs. (90.3 ± 37.3) µmol/L, P > 0.05] were similar between the two groups, while the incidence of NYHA III and IV (95% vs. 65%), the left ventricle end-systolic dimension[(71.0 ± 9.6) mm vs. (65.5 ± 7.2) mm], dimension of the left atrium [(52.8 ± 8.93) mm vs. (43.9 ± 6.3) mm], right ventricular outflow tract [(29.1 ± 5.3) mm vs. (22.1 ± 3.3) mm] incidence of pericardial effusion (29/61 vs. 7/51) and the serum total bilirubin level [(45.3 ± 31.8) µmol/L vs. (19.5 ± 9.08) µmol/L] were significantly higher while ejective fraction was significantly lower in DCM with PH than those in DCM without PH (0.28 ± 0.10 vs. 0.36 ± 0.10, all P < 0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>DCM patients with PH is linked with worse clinical features than DCM patients without PH.</p>

RESUMEN

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the industrial noise over-limit status of the worksites in Guangzhou factories, so as to promote the prevention and control of occupational noise hazards.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>211 factories in Guangzhou were monitored and investigated. The analysis and assessment were developed for the properties and size of the factories, the districts of the factories being located, the industries of the factories being classified and the date of monitoring.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>In this understudied factories, most of them were national-owned and joint-ventures, medium size, located in urban, and mainly involved in the industries of manufacturing of motor vehicle, shipping, electron and electric equipment, and the industries of petroleum and chemicals. The prevalence of noise over-limit was higher in joint-ventures (36.0%) and private-run enterprises (31.2%). The over-limit status mainly presented in industries of textile, food and beverage processing, and leather producing, with getting prevalence of over-limit 46.7%, 43.1% and 41.3% respectively. Subsequence were industries of manufacturing of electron and electric equipment, motor vehicle and shipping, and industries of printing and goods producing for culture and sports, with the prevalence for all > 35%. Factories monitored during spring and summer also had higher prevalence of noise over-limit. The similar results were got after adjustment for each other using multivariable regression. The most common over-limit sites mainly focused on the operation of cutting and sawing, milling and planing, pressing, riveting, drilling, jointing, assembling and quality inspecting in industries of mechanism processing and manufacturing, on quality inspecting and packing in industries of pharmacy and food and beverage manufacture, on spinning and scutching in textile industry, and on cleaning and maintaining as assistant jobs, and patrolling and inspecting air-press machine, ventilation machine, dynamotor and pump.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Noise in Guangzhou factories widely exists with different industries and districts. To strengthen noise occupational hazards prevention and control for the high risk districts, industries and worksites should be the key job in the future.</p>

RESUMEN

Objective To investigate the impacts of body mass index (BMI) and age on in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) treatment in infertile patients without polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Methods A retrospective study of 1426 patients during Jun. 2001 - Nov. 2009 was carried out. Multiple regression was used to analyze the effects of BMI (low weight: BMI<18.5 kg/m2, normal weight:BMI 18.5-23.99 kg/m2 and over weight-obesity: BMI≥24 kg/m2) and age (young: 20-34 years old, eld: 35-45 years old) on controlled ovarian stimulation (COH)[including:dose and duration of Gn, E2 level on day of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) administration, number of oocytes collected and full-grown follicles ],number of fertilization, cleavage, two-pronucleus, normal embryos and cryopreserved embryos and clinical pregnancy outcome. Results ( 1 ) Gn dose for the patients whose age were 35 and the above,had a positive correlation with age (P<0.001), 12.70% of the total variation of Gn dose was related to age (standardized partial regression coefficient was 0.343). (2) Estradiol level on day of HCG administration had a negative correlation with BMI in overweight-obesity patients, and so were the patients whose age were 35 and above (P value respectively lower than 0.037 and 0.018). 0.80% of the total variation of estradiol (HCG day) is related to age and overweight-obesity while age took greater proportion (standardized partial regression coefficients were 0.066 and 0.058 respectively). (3)For older patients, age appeared to have negative relationships with duration of Gn and number of oocytes collected, full-grown follicles, fertilization, cleavage, two-pronucleus, normal embryos and cryopreserved embryos (P<0.05). (4)Compared to young-normal weight patients, the odds ratio of pregnancy in eld-low weight and eld-overweight-obesity patients were 0.482 and 0.529 (P<0.05)respectively. Conclusion Age, but not the BMI, had significant effects on IVF/ICSI treatment. It seems that factors as losing weight before IVF or ICSI treatment effective in reducing the dose of Gn.

RESUMEN

AIM: To investigate the effects of polidatin on phospholipase A_2(PLA_2),nitric oxide(NO),and endothelin-1(ET-1) levels in serum and lung homogenate of hypoxic pulmonary hypertension rats.METHODS: 29 healthy Spraugue-Dawley rats were randomly divided into normal control group,chronic hypoxic group and hypoxic plus polidatin group.The model of chronic hypoxic pulmonary hypertension was made by method of intermittent isobaric hypoxia for 21 days.The mean pulmonary arterial pressure(mPAP) was measured by inserting a microcatheter into the pulmonary artery.The ratio of right ventricular wall and that of left ventricular wall and ventricular septum weight(R/L+S) was measured as well.RESULTS: After exposed to hypoxia for 21 days,the mPAP,R/L+S,PLA_2 and ET-1 activities in blood and lung homogenate increased significantly. The NO concentration decreased significantly.Pretreatment with PD attenuated these changes mentioned above.CONCLUSION: Pretreatment with PD effectively prevents the formation of chronic hypoxic pulmonary hypertension.Its mechanism may be related to the inhibition of PLA_2 and ET-1 and promotion of NO production.
