RESUMEN
This report describes an anuric neonate with sepsis managed by peritoneal dialysis. It was possible to continue with massive antibiotic therapy on account of this procedure. The safety and efficacy of peritoneal dialysis in the neonatal period cannot be over-emphasized. Its potentiality as a life-saving device should be a major concern. The small size of the patient should cause no hindrance in the performance of this procedure, much less any decision to employ it should not be deferred so long as there is a sound rationale for its use.
