The Helicobacter Pylory (H.P.), of world wide distribution, is irregular, depending on region, race and age. The purpose of this report to find out the prevalence of the H.P. in rural patients. One hundred persons went through endoscopy and biopsy with histology. No one had non steroid anti inflamatory drugs recently intake records and nobody had neoplasm gastric. The prevalence of H.P. in our rural population was 76 per cent compaired to 53 per cent of the urban people. There is no differences between sexes. Mucosal congestion was the most frequent finding and cronic gastritis with or without intestinal metaplasia dominet in H.P. positive. Fynally, only a few patient H.P. positive had active ulcer. As a conclusion, we should say that the H.P. is very common in our rural population.
