RESUMEN

Background and Aim: A proper warm-up method can be used as a strategy to improve performance of athletes in various sport fields. The purpose of the present study was to assess the effect of traditional and post-activation potentiation warm-up methods on ground reaction forces during squat jump

Materials and Methods: Fourteen trained male athletes [age=26.5+/-3.64 years, weight=70+/-10.65 kg, height=180 +/- 8.39 cm] participated voluntarily in this study. Athletes randomly performed three different warm-up protocols on three separate days: typical traditional warm-up method, static and dynamic post-activation potentiation implementing half-squat at 90% 1RM. After performing the warm-up protocols, the subjects completed squat jump test on a force platform in order to assess ground reaction forces

Results: In the jumping and landing phases, the peak values of horizontal and vertical ground reaction forces in the traditional warm-up method were significantly lower than those in the static [P=0.001 for both phases] and dynamic [P=0.001 for both phases] PAP warm-up methods. Also, we found a significant difference in the horizontal peak ground reaction force in the jumping phase between the static and dynamic PAP warm-up methods [P=0.003]. In addition, significant differences in the vertical jump height and rate of force development [RFD] were observed between the traditional and static PAP warm-up methods [P=0.001 for both methods], between the traditional and dynamic PAP warm-up methods [P=0.001 for both methods], and also between the static and dynamic PAP warm-up methods [P=0.002 and P=0.003, respectively]

Conclusion: According to the results of this study, it seems that the PAP warm-up method may have more advantage over traditional warm-up method in order to improve record and performance of the athletes during squat jump movement

RESUMEN

Two hundred and ninety four engorged female ticks were collected from 4 different geographical regions for assessment of tick resistance against acaricide compounds. The 15-21 day- old larvae have been tested in accordance with FAO recommended larvae packet test. Resistant factor for each region was calculated by LC50 and LC99. Minimum LC50 [0.008] and, Maximum LC50 [0.024] for Amitraz were seen in arid and northern regions with resistant factor equal 3. Minimum LC50 [0.001] and, Maximum LC50 [0.003] for Cypermehtrin were seen in mountainous and southern costal regions with resistant factor equal 3. Minimum LC50 [0.003] and Maximum Lc50 [0.014] for Diazinon were seen in the northern and arid regions with resistant factor equal 4.7. In comparison with Probit test results; the applied concentrations denote Amitraz and Cypermethrin at recommended concentration do not slay 100% of the larvae in the northern and arid region. However Diazinon can slay all the larvae even at concentrations lower than the recommended doses

RESUMEN

Intra operative cytology is a rapid, cheap, nonaggressive and valuablemethod for diagnosis of breast lesions. To assess the diagnostic accuracy of intra operative cytology of breastlesions.Thisprospective study was carried out on 70 specimens referred topathology lab in Shahid Rajaie hospital Out of total specimens, 37 were benign, 4 diagnosed as suspectedmalignancy associated with hypercellularity and moderate cell atypia, 29 malignant, 3misdiagnosed due to hypercellularity and absence of cellular atypia. All 4 inflammatorylesions were diagnosed correctly. Diagnostic accuracy of benign, malignant andinflammatory lesions was 90%, 90% and 100%, respectively.Intra operative cytology is a rapid, cheap and valuable method inevaluating the entire margin of a tumoral mass and with good results in maintaining thephysical appearance [cosmetic]. It also helps for a better management of breast lesions
