RESUMEN

Fifty six amenorrheic women and 10 normal menstruating fertile controls were included in this study. Amenorrheic women were classified into 5 groups. The first group consisted of 16 hyperprolactinemic women. The second group comprised 12 women with primary ovarian failure. The third group comprised 12 polycystic ovarian diseased patients. The fourth group comprised 12 patients with hypogonadotrophic hypopituitarism. The last group was four cases with hypothalamic dysfunction. Plasma B-endorphin levels were lower in the 5 amenorrheic groups than controls. The lowest levels were found in the hypothalamic dysfunction group [P < 0.001], then the hyperprolactinemic and primary ovarian failure groups [P < 0.001 for both]. Levels of B-endorphin in PCO and hypogonadotrophic hypopituitarism were mildly lower than controls [P< 0.05 for both]

RESUMEN

Histological examination of the lower segment caesarean section scars taken from 100 women during repetition of caesarean section and using different types of staining showed that caesarean section scar healed by fibrous tissue formation. The amount of fibrous tissue varied from minimal amount in some cases to dense fibrous scars in other cases. Hysterographic study of the uterus 3 months after caesarean section for 20 cases was done compared to a control group of 10 cases. Post caesarean section cases showed some degree of deformity in only 2 cases, an incidence of 10% while other cases showed the usual smooth outline

RESUMEN

This study includes 160 patients suffering from mild or severe pregnancy induced hypertension. Half of patients have received the ordinary lines of treatment of P.I.H., while the other half received this treatment in additional to Solcoseryl injection. It has been found that the patients who have received Solcoseryl therapy had a significant increase in the foetal movements, increased foetal biparietal diameter, and gave births to babies who had a higher birth weight and a higher apgar score [1 min and 5 min] than those who did not receive it
