RESUMEN

This comparative study includes the effect of two inhalational agents, namely halothane and isofulrane, on the middle ear pressure in sixty patients with normal middle ear function. The effect of both agents on the middle ear pressure and the duration required to achieve these changes are seen in Fig. 1 and Tables 2,3. It appeared that there were no significant differences between halothane and isoflurane effects in regard to pressure changes and to the time required to achieve these changes. This research was done by a financial grant from the Deanship of the Scientific research, University of Jordan

RESUMEN

Fourty seven children were selected to study the effect of enflurane and isoflurane on the middle ear pressure and the time required to achieve the pressure changes. The data was recorded by using an Interacoustics impedance audiometer model AZ7. From the results of this study, it appeared that Isoflurane is the least unsatisfactory agent to use in middle ear and tympanic cavity surgery
