RESUMEN

Present research was for Study on parasitic infections of domestic ruminants in Golestan province. 234 samples of the gastrointestinal tracts contents, 260 livers, 180 lungs, 350 hearts and muscles, 300 abdominal cavities and 100 eyes for infection to helminthes, 800 blood samples for protozoa and external coats of 700 animals were examined for arthropoda. Results showed that 19.74% of sheep gastrointestinal contents were infected to helminthes and 8 species of nematodes and one species of cestode were isolated. Helminth infection in liver, lung and abdominal activity were 14.4%, 7.5% and 22.22% respectively. Also infection to protozoa was 8.14% and to ectoparasites was 23.33%. 22.49% of goat gastrointestinal contents were infected to helminthes and 8 species of nematodes and three species of cestodes were isolated. Helminth infection in liver, lung and abdominal activity were 16.6%, 7.5% and 37.5% respectively. Also infection to protozoa was 2.96% and to ectoparasites was 22.22%. 10.4% of cattle gastrointestinal contents were infected to helminth parasites and one species of nematode and one species of trematoda were isolated. Helminth infection in liver and lung were 6.5%, 4.16% respectively. Also infection to protozoa was 10% and to ectoparasites was 43.33%. No helminth was isolated from heart and muscles in above-mentioned ruminants

RESUMEN

Study on the viability and nematophagousactivity of three native isolates of Arthrobotrys [two A.oligospora and one A. cladodes var. macrolides] afterpassage through sheep's gastrointestinal tract. Field study. Three sheep for each isolate. Three native isolates of Arthrobotrys [two A.oligospora and one A. cladodesvar. macrolide] isolatedfrom soil of different regions of Mazandaran. Each isolatewas cultured on barley and given in equal amounts to threesheep. Four and five days after administration, the faecesof sheep were recultured for isolation of Arthrobotrys sp.and to test their viability and nematophagous activity usingfaecal culture and dung pat bioassay. Analysis of variance [ANOVA]. Conidia of three native isolates of Arthrobotryswere reisolated from faeces of infected animals which kepttheir viability and showed 79.75 - 82.26% and 78.79-89.27% nematophagous activity in faecal culture and dungpat bioassay, respectively. These new isolates are significantlyable to reduce the number of Haemonchus contortusinfective larvae through oral administration and can beconsidered as an alternative for chemotherapy

RESUMEN

To determine the prevalence and species ofblood filaria of dog in Tonekabon.Cross sectional study.80 dogs. After clinical examinations and recording ofnecessary information [age, sex and breed], blood sampleswere collected from cephalic or saphen vein and examinedby modified knott method.Analysis of variance [ANOVA].Out of 80, 14 dogs [17.5%] were infected withmicrofilaria. In this regard, about 15%, 1.25% and 1.25% ofinfectionswere Dirifilariaimmitis, microfilaria ofdipetalonemareconditumandmixedinfection, respectively. Infection showed no correlation with sex, age, breed and rates of breathing.Because of the possibility ofinfection in human by this species, our findings recommendkilling of stray dogs and treatment of infected ones
