Relationships of alcohol consumption to the prevalence of metabolic syndrome and its related components in Yichang professional population / 重庆医学

Objective To study the relationships of alcohol consumption to the prevalence of metabolic syndrome and its re‐lated components in Yichang professional population and provide decision making basis for lifestyle intervention to MS crowd in the city .Methods We examined baseline data from 3 640 participants (2 285 men and 1 355 women) aged 20 to 70 years who under‐went a careful drinking habits survey ,then physical examination and blood chemical examination .They were divided into three groups by average ethanol intake [non ,occasional (0 .05) .Conclusion Even moderate drinking has a significant effect to BMI ,DBP ,TG ,LDL C ,UA ,but not obvious to CRP ,GLU ,TCH ,HDL C .Excessive alcohol consumption has a very bad effect on BMI ,DBP ,SBP ,GLU ,TCH ,TG , HDL C ,LDL C ,UA .Both the prevalence of MS and the abnormal rate of its related components are proportional to the alcohol in‐take .Although moderate drinking could lower SBP and GLU ,but can not reduce the incidence of MS .

Nucleotide sequence analysis for a new HLA-B allele HLA-B*13:01:06* / 中华医学遗传学杂志

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To confirm a new allele HLA-B*13:01:06 and analyze its nucleotide sequence.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Genomic DNA was extracted using a Qiagen DNA extraction kit. Nucleotide sequences of HLA-A, HLA-B, HLA-C and HLA-DRB1 were analyzed by polymerase chain reaction-sequence based typing (PCR-SBT). HLA high-resolution results were assigned, and the nucleotide sequences of HLA-B locus was compared with that of HLA-B*13:01:01.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The nucleotide sequence of the new allele shows a strong similarity to that of HLA-B*13:01:01. One nucleotide in exon 2 has changed from G to A at position 219 (codon 49 GCG>GCA), which however did not result in amino acid change.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The novel allele verified by sequencing has been submitted to GenBank and officially named as HLA-B*13:01:06 by the World Health Organization HLA Nomenclature Committee.</p>

Progress in the basic and clinical studies of malignant tumor thermoradiatherapy / 国际肿瘤学杂志

Thermotherapy is one of the combined therapies of malignant tumor. It can enhance the sen-sitivity to radiotherapy by inhibiting cell DNA repair,changing cell signaling, modulating cell cycle checkpoint and inhibiting tumor cell metastasis. Many clinical trials have also confirmed that the combination of thermother-apy and radiotherapy can enhance the curative effect of head and neck,ventrum and pelvic malignant tumor. In this article,the synergistic effects and mechanism of tumor thermoradiotherapy are reviewed.

Analysis of Prophylactic Antibiotics Use in General Surgery during Jul.2005 and Feb.2006 / 中国药房

OBJECTIVE:To understand the prophylactic antibiotics use in general surgeries performed in the hospital where the authors work.METHODS:500copies of discharge record of common surgical cases written between Jul.2005and Feb.2006were checked randomly,and the questionnaires about the general data and medication of the patients were filled out.Then the collected data were analyzed statistically.RESULTS:The prophylactic drug use rate in TypeⅠincision operations reached up to98.8%,of which58.5%cases lacked clear indications of medication.The high rate of prophylactic drug use,improper time of drug use,and the prolonged continuous drug use were among the problems that existed in TypeⅠand TypeⅡincision operation.CONCLUSION:There remain many problems in the use of prophylactic antibiotics in the general surgeries performed in our hospital,which requires the strengthening of standardized administration of prophylactic antibiotic use.

CT Diagnosis of Gastric Fundus and Cardiac Part Lesions / 实用放射学杂志

Objective To study the clinical diagnosis value and CT features of gastric fundus and cardiac part lesions.Methods The CT findings and examining method of gastric fundus and cardiac part lesions were analyzed and summarized in 64 cases.Results (1)Use water as oral contrast can show the gastric mucosa clearly,it was a simple,effective way.(2)CT had important significance for stages and infiltration of cardiac cancer.(3)Varix of gastric fundus had three types:pseudotumor,tuber and thinking-wall.(4)The CT characteristic features of leiomyoma were the continuous linear enhancement in mucosa.Conclusion CT is method for gastrointestinal examining,it has special value to the gastric fundus and cardiac part lesions.
