Clinicopathological analysis of clear cell meningioma / 南方医科大学学报

We present two cases of clear cell meningioma (CCM) in the intracranial and intraspinal region with anaplastic features. On histological examination, both the tumors exhibited unusual anaplastic appearances with nuclear pleomorphism, a high mitotic activity and necrosis, which were different from classical CCMs. The tumor cells were immunoreactive to epithelial membrane antigen (EMA) and vimentin with a high MIB-1 index of 40%. Total excision of the tumors was performed in both cases. The male patient was found to have local recurrence and lateral ventricle metastasis 3 months after the total excision. We reviewed the clinicopathological features, disagnosis and prognosis of the disease. We recommend that postoperative adjuvant radiotherapy or chemotherapy be performed after total tumor excision, and MRI scan every 3-6 months is mandatory during the initial follow-up period.

Application of double-lableling technique between in situ hybridization with cRNA probe and immunohistochemistry / 中国基层医药

Objective To explore the double-labeling method of in 9itu hybridization(ISH) with cRNA probe and immunohistochemistry in the paraffin sections of the skin.Methods The double-standard coexistence signals by situ hybridization and immunohis- tochemistry in 15 cases with acne and folliculitis were observed.Results The blue-violet positive signals of ISH could be observed in the hair follicle epithelium,sebaceous glands and ducts of paraffin section of skin.Meanwhile,the brown dendritic positive signal also could be seen in the sebaceous glands.Conclusions The use of in situ hybridization with digoxin-labeled cRNA probe combined with immunohistochemistry could locate microbial component and epidermal cells on skin paraffin section exactly.

Relationship of the expression of transforming growth factor,vascular endothelial growth factor with angiogenesis in thyroid cancer / 中国基层医药

Objective To investigate the relationship of the expressions of transforming growth factor ?_1(TGF?_1),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) with angiogenesis in thyroid cancer.Method TGF?_1,VEGF and microvessel countt(MVC) were detected by immunohistochemical method in 46 thyroid cancer specimens.Results The mean MVC was significantly higher in tumors with positive TGF?_1 or VEGF than in tumors with negtive TGF?_1 or VEGF[(26.18?4.05) vs (20.13?4.29) for TGF?_1 and (25.82?3.61) vs (19.65?6.32) for VEGF,P

Objective To explore the role of cell cycle regulator in tuberculosis with lung cancer.Methods The ex- pression of p21~(WAF1)gene and p53 protein in 101 cases of tuberculosis with lung cancer have been detected by immunohis- toehemical method.Results total positive staining rate of p21~(WAF1)gene and p53 protein was 42.9% and 64.1%; The expression of both was correlated with histological classification and differentiation of carcinoma.Conclusion Detection of p21W AF1 gene and p53 protein expression may have significant value in the prognosis of tuberculosis with lung cancer
