Práticas alimentares e bem-estar de residentes de uma instituição de longa permanência para idosos da cidade de Diamantina (MG), Brasil / Feeding practices and well-being of residents of a long term elderly care institution in the city of Diamantina, Minas Gerais, Brazil

Este estudo teve como objetivo investigar se os idosos recebem uma alimentação semelhante àquela lembrada antes da institucionalização, e se este fato interfere na sensação de bem-estar deles. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa. Foram identificados dois eixos temáticos: a alimentação no período pré-institucionalização e a atual alimentação na instituição. A alimentação atual oferecida é diferente e isso não influenciou na percepção de bem-estar dos idosos.

This study aimed to investigate whether the elderly receive a diet similar to that remembered before institutionalization and if this fact interferes their sense of well-being. This is a qualitative research. Was identified two main themes: the feeding before institutionalization and the current feeding. The current feeding offered is different and this didn’t influence the perception of well-being of the elderly.
