Uma bailarina pode ser negra? Crianças, bonecas e diferenças étnicas / Ballerina is black? Childrens, dolls and ethnic differences

No presente artigo problematizam-seos modos como a construção deestereótipos e sentimentos preconceituosos são produzidos pelas imagensdos brinquedos, focalizando os bonecos e bonecas. Discute-se o modo comoessas imagens estereotipadas produzemefeitos nas subjetividades infantis,analisando os discursos infantis sobre diferenças étnicas. Como método, utilizou-se uma abordagem qualitativa de análise do discurso. A pesquisa foirealizada em uma escola pública darede municipal de ensino de PortoAlegre (RS). Participaram da proposta vinte e seis crianças, com idades entre sete e oito anos em dez encontros semanais, realizados de março amaio de 2011. Utilizou-se um pequeno acervo de quatorze bonecos e bonecas diferentes, que desconstroem estereótipos. This paper discusses how the forms ofstereotyping and prejudiced feelingsare produced by focusing on the imagesof toys and dolls dolls. It discusses how these stereotypical effects on children's subjectivities, analyzing the discourses on childhood ethnic differences. As a method, used a planking qualitative discourse analysis. The research was conducted in a public school in the municipal schools of Porto Alegre(RS). Attended the proposed twentysix children, aged seven and eight in five weekly meetings, held from March to May 2011. We used a small collection of fourteen different dolls and puppets, they deconstruct stereotypes. Assim falava Barbie: uma boneca para todos e para ninguém / Thus spoke Barbie: a doll for all and for none

Envolta em um mundo de beleza, riqueza e aventura, a boneca Barbie está imersa em uma pedagogia cultural, com o intuito de ensinar a supremacia de um tipo de corpo, etnia e comportamento. Este artigo tem como objetivo discutir as representações da boneca Barbie na cultura lúdica e o modo como tem afetado a construção das identidades infantis, especialmente em relação à identidade de gênero e à diversidade cultural. Analisa-se o que estudos específicos têm revelado sobre as representações culturais da boneca. Para tanto, foram tomados como referencial os Estudos Culturais, tendo como marco teórico a abordagem Pós-Estruturalista de análise, tratando a boneca como um artefato cultural. Destacam-se seus efeitos produzidos pela mídia e pela configuração discursiva da infância.

Shrouded in a world of beauty, wealth and adventure, the Barbie doll is immersed in a cultural pedagogy, with the intent to teach the supremacy of a body type, ethnicity and behavior. This article aims to discuss the representations of the Barbie doll in ludic culture and how it has affected the construction of children's identities, especially in relation to gender identity and to cultural diversity. It analyzes what specific studies have revealed about the cultural representations of the doll. For such, cultural studies were taken as referential, using as theoretical framework the post-structuralism analysis approach, treating the doll as a cultural artifact. We highlight their effects produced in the media and in the discourse of childhood configuration.
