RESUMEN

The teratogenic effects of Thiabendazole fungicide were studying in chicken embryos, using five different concentrations, including the recommended field rate. Embryonated eggs were treated by immersion in aqueous dilutions of fungicide on the 6th day of incubation. Survival embryos were subjected to morphological, visceral, and skeletal examinations. Delayed ossification and extra-rib were observed as skeletal anomalies. Alkaline phosphatase activities of several tissues, i.e. the thigh bones, cervical and thigh muscles showed an inhibition correlated with fungicide concentrations

RESUMEN

A simple and sensitive kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of acyclovir in bulk and in pharmaceutical preparations was developed. The procedure is based upon a kinetic investigation of the oxidation reaction of the drug with potassium permanganate in alkaline medium for fixed time of 30 min. The absorbance of the colored manganate ions was measured at 610nm. The concentration plot was rectilinear over the range 4-30 mug/ml with a detection limit of 0.66 mug/ml. The concentration of acyclovir is calculated using the corresponding calibration equation for the fixed-time method. The determination of acyclovir by fixed-concentration and rate-constant methods was feasible with the calibration equations obtained but the fixed time method had been found to be more applicable. The [%] recoveries for the dosage form were 98.94 +/- 0.529. The results obtained were in good agreement with those obtained using the official method
