RESUMEN
O presente artigo tem por objetivo descreveras principais mudanças ocorridas na educaçãoprofissional técnica de nível médio, nos últimosdez anos. Enfatiza-se no trabalho o processo dereorganização curricular dos cursos de educaçãoprofissional técnica de nível médio em enfermagem,frente aos princípios, diretrizes e conceitos estabelecidospelas políticas instituídas no campo daeducação em saúde, cujo objetivo é formar trabalhadoresde saúde com competência profissionalnecessária para rever e redirecionar a realidade desaúde do país.
The purpose of this article is to describethe main changes that have taken place in mid-leveltechnical professional education in the past ten years.The article emphasizes the curricular reorganizationprocess that has been undertaken in the mid-leveltechnical professional education for nursing in orderto deal with the principles, guidelines, and conceptsset forth by the policies that have been instituted inthe education and health fields, the goal of which isto qualify health workers who have the required professionalcompetency to review and redirect the realityof health in Brazil.
