comparative study of serum immunoglobulin E levels in patients with allergic disease and healthy subjects

Serum IgE levels were measured by radioimmuno diffusion plate technique in 200 patients with Allergic Rhinitis/Asthma and the results were compared with a control group of 200 non-allergic subjects. The data is presented for age groups in mean and standard deviations and by model distribution. Normal mean IgE levels for the total sample were 75.34 i.u. /ml, with higher levels in patients with Allergic Rhinitis/Asthma [mean 333.3 i.u/ml] ml,. Mean serum IgE value was found significantly higher in patients with both the allergic problems i.e, Allergic Rhinitis/Asthma as compared to control group [P<0.001]

Maxillary ameloblastoma- A potentially lethal neoplasm

A case of maxillary Ameloblastoma is presented. It was in left 2nd maxillary molar tooth, involving the whole left maxillary alveolar margin, ending and eroding the palate on left side. The clinical appearance of the lesion was compatible with that of malignant tumor, but the histopathology was consistent with diagnosis of ameloblastoma of maxilla
