RESUMEN
1. Santonin is depressant to human roundworms, Ascaris lumbricoides. Therefore, it possess a vermicidal property2. The depression is produced even in the absence of bile3. Weak sodium carbonate solution is a better solvent of santonin than plain distilled water4. Santonin depression on human ascaris is not preceded by agitation, irritation, or repellant action5. There is evidence to show that santonin may induce tolerance on repeated application6. An apparatus is here described that allows a full view of the worm so that tracing and inspection can be carried on simultaneously at body temperature or any desired temperature.
