RESUMEN

@#Objective To observe the effects of electroacupuncture on genu recurvatum after stroke. Methods 80 stroke patients with genu recurvatum were randomly assigned to treatment group (n=40) and control group (n=40). The control group accepted routine rehabilitation, and the treatment group accepted electroacupuncture at Yanglingquan (GB34), Futu (ST32), Weizhong (BL40), Chengshan (BL57) and Zusanli (ST36) in addition, for 30 days. The incidence of effectiveness was compared between groups. All the patients were assessed with range of motion (ROM) of knee and Fugl-Meyer Assessment of lower limbs (FMA) before and after treatment. Results The incidence of effectiveness was 72.5% in the treatment group, which was more than 55% in the control group (P<0.05). The ROM and score of FMA improved more in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The electroacupuncture can promote the recovery of genu recurvatum after stroke.

RESUMEN

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To observe the effects of needle retaining on hemodynamic change and investigate the significance of retaining needle.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Manual acupuncture was performed at the left Zusanli (ST 36) of 26 healthy adult volunteers who have not receiued acupuncture. 26 cases were randomly divided into a needle retaining group and a quick needling group, 13 cases in each group. Hemodynamic parameters of the anterior tibial artery were observed with color Doppler ultrasound before needling and 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 minutes after needle manipulation. Hemodynamic parameters were also compared between the two groups 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 minutes after needle manipulation.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>There were no significant difference in V(max) and Vm between 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 minutes after needling manipulation (all P > 0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Needle retaining can not change regional hemodynamic.</p>

RESUMEN

@#Objective To explore the effect of acupuncture on stroke patients in hemiplagic spasm period.Methods63 stroke patients in hemiplagic spasm period were randomly divided into the electro-acupuncture group(n=31) and control group(n=32).All patients of two groups received routine rehabilitation training, but those of the electro-acupuncture group were added with electro-acupuncture at "Zusanli"(ST36).The composite spasticity scale(CSS) score,H/Mmax and muscular compliance of two groups before and after treatment were observed and compared.ResultsThe CSS scores and H/Mmax and grading gastrocnemius muscular compliance of the electro-acupuncture group were superior to that of the control group(P<0.05~0.01).ConclusionAcupuncture can decrease muscular tension and increase motor function of stroke patients in hemiplagic spasm period.
