RESUMEN

The os subfibulare is a relatively uncommon bony anomaly of the foot. It is usually found between the malleolus and talus and ossifies during adolescence or preadolescence. It can be demonstrated on routine anteroposterior ankle film of the foot. In 4 patients presented, the abnormality caused pain and frequent episodes of ankle strain. The pain was relieved in all patients treated by excision of the accessory bone.

RESUMEN

Subperiosteal Ganglion is a rare cystic lession, although ganglions are frequently found in close proximities to joints and tendon sheaths. It is characterized by a thin-walled cyst containing tenacious mucoid fluid and by the pedicle attached to periosteum. This report describes a middle-aged man with a subperiosteal ganglion which occured beneath the periosteam of the tibia. Presenting symptoms were pain and circumscribed swelling over the anteromedial aspect of the right proximal tibia.

RESUMEN

Intraosseous Neurilemmomas are very rare tumor and most of them are arose in the mandibular bone. A case report is made on the intraosseous neurilemmoma in the distal shaft of tibia which belong very rarely seen in the area of bone. The case was a 23 year old male who had multicystic lesion on the distal shaft of right tibia with marginal this sclerotic change on the radiological examination. The lesion of intraosseous neurilemmoma was confirmed by the microscopic examination after surgical treatment of curettage and bone graft. Also a review of literature on the neurilemmoma was made and reported.

RESUMEN

This paper is a consecutive series of total hip arthroplasties were performed over 6 years period by the same group surgeons utilizing the Charnley method as well as the lateral approach with trochanteric osteo. tomy. Trochanteric reattachment was accomplished in 285 hips and method of reattachment were basically standard Charnley technique which we used in most of our series. In addition, some modification of original Charnley technique which we used in early this trial were also included for this study. As far as trochanteric complications are concerned, there are 18 cases of hips where there was wire breakage, proximal drift of greater trochanter and 6 established cases of nonunion also reported. By the use of wire mash, we have performed a revisional surgery which has re-inforced of the greater trochanter. This was the case when the greater trocyhanter was very osteoporotic. Finally, biomechanical considerations of the re-attachment of the greater trochanter and new Charnley staple clamp method were introduced with review of our cases and analysed for technical failures.
