RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE@#To explore the application of digital positioning guide plate in extraction of impacted supernumerary teeth and evaluate its clinical efficacy.@*METHODS@#From March to August, 2019, 30 patients with labial impacted supernumerary teeth treated in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Stomatological Hospital, Southern Medical University were enrolled in this study. Fifteen of the patients were treated with digital positioning guide plate to remove the impacted supernumerary teeth (test group). According to the CBCT data and the dentition model of the patients, the positioning guide plate was positioned by avoiding the important anatomical structure with the tooth-bone surface as the support to design the soft tissue incision line and bone tissue exposure range. The other 15 patients who were treated without the use of the guide plate for operation served as the control group. The design time, tooth searching time, operation time and complications were compared between the two groups.@*RESULTS@#The positioning guide plate was well attached during the operation and allowed quick location of the supernumerary teeth while helping to expose the supernumerary teeth and avoid the damage of the adjacent important anatomical structures. The pre-operative design time was 50 ± 5 min in the test group and 0 min in the control group. The average time of tooth finding in the test group was 5±2 min, as compared with 10±3 min in the control group (=15.40, < 0.01); the average time of operation was significantly shorter in the test group than in the control group (25±4 min 45±6 min; =35.50, < 0.01). No intraoperative complications occurred in the test group, and slight deviation occurred in one case in the control group.@*CONCLUSIONS@#The application of digital positioning guide plate in extraction of embedded supernumerary teeth can significantly shorten the time of tooth finding, reduce the difficulty of operation, and improve the quality of operation.

RESUMEN

Objective To analyse the influencing factor, clinical appearance and solution of peri-implanti-tis,especially caused by cement remnant. Methods In this retrospective study 23 typical cases of peri-implantitis were collected in our implantology center from Jan.2016 to Dec.2016.The general data such as age, sex, systemic diseases, habits of smoking and alcohol, history of periodontitis, surgery process, materials and way of restoration were recorded in details. This study enrolled individuals from a private practice who had cement-retained implant res-torations,scheduled for regular implant maintenance or coming for consultation on a complication. Results All screw-retention(100%)and 50% cement retention peri-implantitis cases suffered from local and systemic diseases, 30% screw-retention and 20% cement retention healthy cases suffered from local and systemic diseases, which showed a significant differences(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between screw and cement reten-tion in peri-implantitis group.85.7% of screw-retention and 50% of cement retention cases had a poor oral hygiene (PLI=2or3).Despite the other possible factors(such as diabetes, periodontitis and heavy smoker),8 cement-re-tained implants suffered from peri-implantitis.5 cases showed the cement remnant on the x-ray photo. Conclusion There are many pathogenic factors leading to peri-implantitis that may be single or combined.Cement remnant direct-ly leads to peri-implantitis.Clearance of excess cement together with scaling and laser treatment,or even combined with guided bone regeneration surgery are effective for treatment of peri-implantitis.

RESUMEN

Objective To observe the influence of inactive FRMD4A gene′s expression on the biological behavior of tongue cancer CAL-27cell. Methods FRMD4A-siRNA was transfered into CAL-27 cell by lipidosome, to the expression of FRMD4A-siRNA in CAL-27 cell after transfection was detect by qRT-PCR cell proliferation , was checked by CCK-8,the influence of inactive FRMD4A gene on cell cycle distribution of CAL-27 cell was assayed by flow cytometry. Results Compared with the control group, FRMD4A mRNA expression significantly reduced in FRMD4A-siRNA interfering group (94%) and the cell proliferation index decreased(P<0.05). The cell cycle arrested in G1 period (P<0.05). Conclusion FRMD4A-siRNA could effectively inhibit FRMD4A mRNA expression in tongue cancer CAL-27cell, impact the distribution of cell cycle, and reduce cell proliferation.
