Objective To study the relationship among leptin, neuropeptide Y and plasma lipid in the patients with essential hypertension. Methods In 116 patients with essential hypertension (EH) and 26 healthy subjects, the plasma concentrations of leptin(LE), neuropeptide Y(NPY), total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG) and high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL) were determined using RIA.
