RESUMEN

Practice teaching is an important link in the training of public health talents in colleges and universities. At present, there are still some problems in the education of public health and preventive medicine in the colleges and universities in China, such as attaching greater importance to theory than to practice and weak training of practical skills among students. In view of this situation, a public health practice teaching model of "internal-external interactions" has been constructed in Dalian Medical University with focuses on the following aspects: ①experiments in the university are optimized based on social needs; ②the practice base outside the university is expanded based on the teaching in the university; ③"internal-external interactions" are adopted to enhance practice training and improve post competence. The teaching practice shows that the implementation of the teaching model of "internal-external interactions" can help to improve practice teaching ability, promote the improvement in the training quality of public health talents, and meet the social demand for application-oriented professionals.

RESUMEN

Objective: To assess the expression of ajuba LIM protein (AJUBA) in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and to determine its role in cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in OSCC. Methods: The expression of AJUBA at mRNA and protein levels in OSCC was determined by quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and immunohistochemical approaches, respectively. This was fol-lowed by analysis of the correlations between AJUBA levels and clinicopathological features of OSCC. The effects of AJUBA on cell pro-liferation, migration, and invasion in OSCC were assessed by MTT, wound healing, and transwell migration assays, respectively. West-ern blot assays were performed to check for the potential regulation of the Snail/E-cadherin pathway by AJUBA. Results: The expres-sion of AJUBA was significantly higher in OSCC tissues compared to that in adjacent normal tissues and correlated with T stage, cell dif-ferentiation, lymph node metastasis, and recurrence in OSCC. Elevated AJUBA levels indicated poor prognosis in patients with OSCC. Depletion of AJUBA impaired cell proliferation, migration, and invasion abilities of OSCC cells. Data from Western blot assays showed that AJUBA facilitated the expression of Snail but inhibited that of E-cadherin. Conclusions: AJUBA is overexpressed in OSCC and may influence cell proliferation and invasion in OSCC by modulating the Snail/E-cadherin pathway.

RESUMEN

Objective Our retrospective study was aimed to analyze the clinical significance of microsurgical clipping and intravascular embolization in patients with intracranial aneurysm (IA).Methods Clinical data of 86 patients with IA received treatment at our hospital from February 2010 to November 2014 was retrospectively analyzed.Patients were divided into two groups according to the treatment method, IE group (intravascular embolization,43 cases)and MC group (microsurgical clipping,43 cases). The general information, treatment effect, hospitalization expenses and time and the rate of complication of the patients between two groups were compared. Results There was no sta-tistical difference in general information between two groups (P >0.05).The cure rate of patients in IE group was obviously better than that in MC group (P <0.01).The hospitalization expenses in IE group was lower than that in MC group, and the hospitalization time was shorter than that in MC group, all the differences had statistical significance (P <0.01).The rate of complication in IE group was obviously lower than that in MC group (P <0.01).Conclusion The clinical effect of intravascular embolization was significantly better than microsurgical clipping, which is worth promoting in clinic.

RESUMEN

Thrombospondin-1 is known as its anti-angjogenic and proapoptotic activities in oncogenesis. In current research, it has a intimate relationship with taxol resistance. Sensitivity of tumor cells to taxol will descend when the expression:of TSP1 is downregulated, and TSP1 downregulation is mediated by a new gene of taxol-resistance gene 1, the discovery provids a new trend to solve taxol resistance.

RESUMEN

[Objective] To observe the effects of Niaoduling Granule (NG) on renal function in rats with chronic renal failure (CRF) and its relationship with renal transforming growth factor (TGF) ?1. [Methods] CRF rat models were established by 5/6 subtotal nephrectomy and then the model rats were randomized into model group (Group B), NG group (Group C) and placebo control group (Group D) and other 8 rats served as mimic operation group (Group A) . Biochemical indexes, metabolic parameters and pathological features in kidney were examined and expression of renal transforming growth factor (TGF) ?1 was determined by immunohistochemical assay. [Results] Renal hypofunction, disorder of electrolyte, decrease of hemoglobin and CRF features were found in Group B. After treatment, renal function was improved and glomerulus-sclerosis index (GSI) and expression of renal TGF ?1 were decreased in Groups C and D (P
