RESUMEN

Objective To observe and explore the differentiation value of serum hepcidin level in iron defi-ciency anemia(IDA) and anemia of chronic disease(ACD) .Methods 40 cases of IDA in the hospital from Oc-tober 2015 to February 2017 and 40 cases of ACD were selected as the ACD group and in the same period 50 healthy people undergoing physical examination served as the control group .The ELISA method was adopted to detect serum hepcidin level in each group .The levels of serum iron and total iron binding capacity (TIBC) were detected by using the ferrous benzoxazines colorimetric method .Then the serum hepcidin levels were performed the contrastive analysis and statistical processing .Results The serum hepcidin level in the IDA group was lower than that in the control group ,the difference was statistically significant (P<0 .05) ,and ser-um hepcidin level in the ACD group was higher than that in control group ,the difference was statistically sig-nificant (P<0 .05) .The areas of under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve for hepcidin ,serum iron ,TIBC in the differentiation diagnosis of ACD and IDA were 0 .98 ,0 .67 and 0 .86 respectively .Conclusion Serum hepcidin level is a simple and easy method for the differentiation diagnosis of IDA and ACD ,and its accuracy is superior to that of serum iron and TIBC levels .

RESUMEN

Objective To compare and analyze the characteristics of intensity-modulated arc therapy (IMAT) versus fixed-gantry intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) in the treatment of cervical esophageal cancer. Methods Ten patients treated in our radiotherapy center were selected for this study.Based on the identical CT and planning target volume (PTV), two IMAT plans were generated with Eclipse ver8.6 planning system.IMAT1 consisting of a single 359.8° rotation, and IMAT2 consisting of two coplanar 359.8° rotations.PTV were prescribed to 60 Gy in 30 fractions.Planning objectives for PTV,corresponding with the IMRT plans, were V98 larger than 97% and V110 no more than 15%.The maximum dose of spinal-cord was constrained below 45 Gy.One-way ANOVA were applied to dose-volume values for PTV and OAR from DVH.Results There were no significant differences between IMRT and IMAT in PTV D98, V98, CI or total-lung V5, V10, V30, V40, V50 and mean lung dose (all P > 0.05).However, the differences were significant in terms of D2, V110 and HI of PTV, V20 of the total-lung (all P<0.05).On the MU,IMRT = 1174.8 MU,IMAT1 =709.7 MU,and IMAT2 =803.8 MU (F =39.25,P =0.000).On the treatment time,IMRT= 14.9 min,IMAT1 = 1.9 min, and IMAT2 =2.66 min (F=45.14,P=0.000).Conclusions IMAT is equal to IMRT in dosimetric evaluation.Due to much less MU and delivery time,IMAT is an ideal technique in treating patients by reducing the uncomfortable influences which could effect the treatment. However, IMAT1 is slightly inferior to IMAT2.

RESUMEN

Objective To determine the impact of exogenous vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) on rat liver function after partial liver transplantation. Methods Male SD rats which had undergone 30% partial liver transplantation were divided into VEGF treatment group (n=60) and control group (n=60). Animals in each group were injected with solution of VEGF or saline, respectively. Serum ALT, AST, and hyaluronic acid (HA) levels were assessed at 0, 12, 24, 72, 168 hours after operation. Results Serum ALT, AST and HA levels were significantly decreased at 72 hours after transplantation in VEGF treatment group compared with controls (t =4.681, 4.252, 2.853, P<0.05). In accordance with liver function, treatment with VEGF minimized the damage to the liver sinusoidal endothelial cells and decreased the infiltration of inflamatory cells. Conclusion Administration of VEGF may improve the liver function of rats after partial liver transplantation by maintaining the integrality of the sinusoidal structure and reducing the inflamation reaction.

RESUMEN

Objective To determine the effects of exogenous VEGF on the serum levels of HGF and IL-6 in rats following partial liver transplantation. Methods Totally 180 SD rats were subjected to 50 percent partial liver transplantation, then each 60 rats were treated either with VEGF,anti-VEGF or normal saline.HGF,IL-6 and hepatic biochemical markers were assessed at 0,12,24,72,168 h after operation. Results In the VEGF group, the serum levels of HGF and IL-6 were significantly increased as compared with those of anti-VEGF group or control group.Blockage of endogenous VEGF led to a marked increase of ALT and AST.Conclusion VEGF can markedly increase the secretion of HGF and IL-6,which may be related to its enhancing liver regeneration and improving liver function.
