RESUMEN

The occurrence of obesity has increased across the whole world. Many epidemiological studies have indicated that obesity strongly contributes to the development of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, liver diseases and other disorders, accounting for a heavy burden on the public and on health-care systems every year. Excess energy uptake induces adipocyte hypertrophy, hyperplasia and formation of visceral fat in other non-adipose tissues to evoke cardiovascular disease, liver diseases. Adipose tissue can also secrete adipokines and inflammatory cytokines to affect the local microenvironment, induce insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, and activate associated inflammatory signaling pathways. This further exacerbates the development and progression of obesity-associated diseases. Although some progress in the treatment of obesity has been achieved in preclinical and clinical studies, the progression and pathogenesis of obesity-induced diseases are complex and unclear. We still need to understand their links to better guide the treatment of obesity and associated diseases. In this review, we review the links between obesity and other diseases, with a view to improve the future management and treatment of obesity and its co-morbidities.

RESUMEN

Objective To observe clinical effect of treating helicobacter pylori infection with self-designed gastritis granule. Methods 37 patients of Helicobacter Pylori (Hp) infection with chronic gastritis accompanied by gastric mucosa atrophy and erosion were randomly recurited into a control group and a treatment group. The control group was treated with PPI trigeminy therapy, and the treatment group was treated with self-designed gastritis granule combined with PPI trigeminy therapy. Both groups were treated for continuous four weeks. Results The eradication rate of Hp in treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05) .Conclusion The treatment of self-designed gastritis granule on chronic gastritis accompanied by gastric mucosa atrophy and erosion has effective results.

RESUMEN

Objective To investigate the effects of carboxymethyl-chitosan (CM-CH) on keloid fibroblasts (KFB) proliferation and collagen synthesis. Methods Keloid fibroblasts were isolated from fresh keloid tissue and cultured. The effect of CM-CH on proliferation was examined by MTT assay. The synthesis of collagen was evaluated by hydroxy proline (HP) colorimetric analysis. Results The fibroblasts were treated with CM-CH at concentration of 10 ?g/ml, 50 ?g/ml, and 100 ?g/ml 48h and 72h after treatment, and all of the three concentrations showed inhibitory effects significantly (P0.05) at 200 ?g/ml concentration after 24h, 48h, and 72h. CM-CH at concentration of 10 ?g/ml, 50 ?g/ml, and 100 ?g/ml after treatment for 48h on KFB could markedly decrease the synthesis of collagen (P

RESUMEN

Chitosan, a linear polysaccharide, is obtained by chitin N deacetylation. Its ?(1 4) glucosidic bond is not stable and breaks easily in acid condition. In this study, chitosan of different molecular weights(MW) was prepared by acetic acid degradation. Chitosan was dissolved at 3%(w/v) concentration in 1%(v/v) acetic acid and the solution was dried at 50 degree C. We get chitosan membranes of different MW after neutralization with aqueous NaOH. The membranes are transparent, elastic and have good intensity. The permeability studies on chitosan membranes were going on with a permeable install made by our laboratory. It was determined by the transmission concentration of NaCl, L Tyr, glucose and calf albumin. We compared the permeability property with different MW chitosan membranes. The result implied that all of the four samples could permeate through the chitosan membranes. And the permeability property of the membrane increased with the chitosan MW decreaseing.
