RESUMEN

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the levels of coagulation indicators [thrombomodulin(TM)/ thrombin-antithrombin complexes(TAT)/ α-plasmin inhibitor-plasmin complexes(PIC)/ tissue plasminogen activator-inhibitor complexes(t-PAIC) /D-Dimer(D-D)/fibrin degradation products(FDP)] in the critical patients with thromboembolism, analyse their correlation with inflammatory factor (procalcitonin/C reactive protein/ interleukin-6), and explore the diagnostic significance of coagulation indicators for these patients.

METHODSThe serum levels of the coagulation indicators (TM/TAT/PIC/t-PAIC/D-D /FDP) and inflammatory factors (PCT/IL-6/CRP) were detected in the patient group with critical thromboembolism (n= 38) and critical patient group without thromboembolism as control (n= 81) . The correlation of coagulation indicators with inflammatory factors was analyzed.

RESULTSThe values of TM/TAT/PIC/D-D/FDP in thromboembolism group were statistically significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.05). However, the t-PAIC values were not significantly different (P>0.05), and 3 inflammatory factors (PCT/CRP/IL-6) in thromboembolism patients were significantly higher than those in control group (P<0.05). The correlation analysis suggested that the correlation coefficients of TM with PCT, CRP and IL-6 were 0.288, 0.249 and 0.270, respectively (P<0.05).

CONCLUSIONThe critical patients with thromboembolism show an obviously higher systemic inflammatory response, and accompany with coagulation dysfunction. There is a network relationship between inflammation and coagulation, the interaction of inflammatory factors with coagulation indicators promotes thromboembolism and inflammation.

RESUMEN

HBV is a major health problem faced by human beings. The study of the mechanism of HBV infection has been a key point in this field. To carry out the related research on HBV, establishment of simple and available in vivo and in vitro infection models is the trend. Due to the close relationship between tree shrews and human/primates, the tree shrew model of HBV infection has attracted more and more attention. This review summarizes recent research, both at home and abroad, about in vivo and in vitro HBV infection in tree shrews, especially the research progress in in vitro culture of primary hepatocytes of tree shrews, and looks to the future research directions as well.

RESUMEN

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is the main cause of liver fibrosis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma, and it is also a major health problem around the world. How to establish an efficient, reliable, and standardized animal model of chronic HBV infection is essential to the study of the pathogenesis and prevention strategies for HBV infection. This review summarizes the general research and new advances in using tree shrews as the model of HBV infection. We believe that tree shrews, as lower primates, will provide a vital platform and have a huge potential for building a proper animal model in the future, and could become the essential animal model for simulating the process of HBV infection in humans.

RESUMEN

This study primarily focused on the systematic assessment of both in vitro and in vivo anti-tumor effects of docetaxel-loaded polyethylene glycol (PEG)2000-polycaprolactone (PCL)2600 micelles on hormone-refractory prostate cancer (HRPC). By using solvent evaporation method, PEG-PCL was chosen to prepare doxetaxel (DTX)-loaded mPEG-PCL micelles (DTX-PMs), with the purpose of eliminating side effects of the commercial formulation (Tween 80) and prolonging the blood circulation time. The prepared DTX-PMs had an average particle size of 25.19±2.36 nm, a zeta potential of 0.64±0.15 mV, a polydispersity index of 0.56±0.03, a drug loading of (8.72±1.05)%, and an encapsulation efficiency of (98.1±8.4)%. In vitro cytotoxicity studies indicated that DTX-PMs could effectively kill LNCap-C4-2B cells and show a dose- and time-dependent efficacy. The hemolysis test showed that DTX-PMs had less hemocytolysis than the commercial product of Duopafei®. A sustained in vitro release behavior and prolonged circulation time in blood vessels were observed in the DTX-PMs. Furthermore, when compared with Duopafei®, the DTX-PMs dramatically reduced the prostate specific antigen (PSA) level and tumor growth of prostate tumor-bearing nude mice in vivo. In conclusion, the DTX-PMs can lower systemic side effects, improve anti-tumor activity with prolonged blood circulation time, and will bring an alternative to patients with HRPC.

RESUMEN

To observe the differences in psychological status between Bell's palsy (BP) patients and healthy subjects, and to examine the relationship between psychological factors and the severity of BP,we conducted a case-control,multi-center clinical investigation.A total of 695 subjects were assigned to the case group (n=355) and the control group (n=340).House-Brackmann grading system and Facial Disability Index (FDI) were adopted to assess the BP patients; Kessler Psychological Distress Scale (K10) and 16 Personality Factor (16PF) scale were employed to evaluate the psychological distress and personality profiles of all subjects. Two independent samples t test was used to compare the differences between cases and controls, and to compare the differences among different BP patients.Pearson correlation analysis was used to examine the relationship between psychological factors and severity of facial paralysis. The results showed that psychological distress (K1 0) in case group (27.09±5.80) was significantly higher than that in control group (13.43±3.02) (t-37.219,P0.000).The scores of personality factor Warmth (A),Openness to Change (Q1),Self-Reliance (Q2) were lower in cases than in the controls (P<0.01,P<0.05,P<0.05,respectively),whereas the scores of Sensitivity (I),Vigilance (L),Apprehension (O),and Tension (Q4) were significantly higher in cases than in the controls (P<0.05,P<0.01,P<0.01,P<0.01,respectively).In addition, the psychological distress was significantly higher in female patients, severe (HB score Ⅳ-Ⅵ) patients, and subacute (onset time 72-168 h) patients compared with that in male patients, mild (HB score Ⅰ -Ⅲ) patients, and acute (onset time≤72 h) patients (P<0.05).The scores of personality factor in female patients, severe patients, and subacute patients were also significantly different from male patients, mild patients, and acute patients (P<0.05).The result of Pearson correlation analysis showed that psychological factors (K10,personality A,F,L,N,O,Q4) were closely related to HB scores. We are led to conclude that the psychological status between BP patients and healthy people are different; psychological distress and personality factors are closely associated with severity of facial paralysis.

RESUMEN

The present study was designed to observe the influence of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury on learning and memory in hyperlipidemic rats and estimate the changes of activity of autonomic nervous system. Twenty-three male Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups, named control group (C group, n=10), hyperlipidemia group (H group, n=6) and hyperlipidemia-ischemia group (HI group, n=7), respectively. The rats in H and HI group were fed a high-fat diet for 2 weeks and the rats in all groups were examined through Morris water maze (MWM) task. The rats in HI group underwent ischemia/reperfusion by 2-vessel occlusion (2-VO) method, and had electrocardiogram (ECG) recording simultaneously. The MWM task and ECG recording were taken again after 7 d of recuperation. The following results were obtained: (1) In the second place navigation performance and probe trial performance, the frequency of memory in quadrant of hidden-platform and memory score decreased significantly in HI group compared to that in C and H groups. (2) The heart rate in HI group decreased slowly after ischemia; the power at high frequency band (HF) reduced gradually, meanwhile the power at middle frequency band (MF) and the ratio of power at MF and HF decreased clearly compared to baseline value. (3) After 7 d of ischemia/reperfusion, the heart rate in HI group was significantly higher than that in H group (P<0.05). While there was no statistical change in the power at MF, the power at HF decreased and the ratio of MF/HF increased significantly (P<0.05). The data demonstrated that ischemia/reperfusion decreased the activity of autonomic nervous system, and the reduction of sympathetic nerve activity was much more than that of vagus nerve activity. The results suggest that the hippocampus neuron injury caused by ischemia induces cognitive disorder and imbalance of vago-sympathetic nerve activity accompanied by vagus nerve suppression.
