RESUMEN

Objective To evaluate the risk of microsurgery and reduce the incidence of postoperative complications in patients with lon-gitudinal fissure meningioma. Methods The clinical data of 106 patients with longitudinal fissure meningioma after microsurgery in the neu-rosurgery department of Xuzhou medical university from January 2011 to December 2017 were retrospectively analyzed.Longitudinal fissure meningioma were defined as the meningioma whose base were attached to the brain’s sickle sinus, sagittal sinus and the brain’s sickle sagit-tal sinus.Patients were divided into two groups according to whether there were postoperative complications. The gender, age, chief complaint symptoms, tumor base, tumor location, tumor size, tumor shape,MR enhancement,MR peritoneal edema, peritoneal adhesion of central sulcus vein and drainage vein, tumor invasiveness, tumor boundary, previous history of circulatory system were compared.Univariate analysis was per-formed on these factors to screen out the influencing factors of patients with postoperative complications.Binary logistic regression analysis was performed on the factors with statistical significance. Results Central sulcus vein and drainage vein adhesion were independent protective factors for postoperative complications. The risk of postoperative complications in patients without adhesion at peri-tumor stage was only 0.209 times of that in patients with adhesion. Conclusion For patients with longitudinal fissure meningioma, preoperative risk of postoperative com-plications can be assessed objectively according to the condition of central sulcus vein and drainage vein adhesion around the tumor. In the treatment of patients with obvious peritumoral vascular adhesion, the central sulcus vein and drainage vessels should be carefully protected to significantly reduce the incidence of postoperative complications.

RESUMEN

Objective To analyze and summarize the clinical manifestations, diagnosis and treatment of pure spinal epidural cavernous hemangiomas. Methods We presented a case series of 6 patients with pure spinal epidural cavernous hemangiomas in our hospital from April 2012 to November 2016 with previous articles discussing their clinical presentation, radiological characteristics, surgical technique, pathological features, and functional outcome. Results All patients were diagnosed as pure spinal epidural cavernous hemangiomas by pathology. The cavernous hemangiomas were totally cut and patients recovered well after operations. All patients gradually improved neurologically and achieved a good outcome with no recurrence during the follow-up for 13 to 68 months. Conclusion Pure spinal epidural cavernous hemangioma is rare.It is easily confused with other spinal diseases.MRI is an important imaging examination method.Pathology is the method of diagnosis.Surgical resection is the main method of treatment, and the prognosis is good.

RESUMEN

Hypoxia inducible factor 1 (HIF-1) is a heterodimeric transcription factor that plays an important role in oxygen homeostasis. In response to low level of oxygen, subunit HIF-1alpha expression is upregulated and transactivates its target genes essential for energy metabolism, erythropoiesis and vascular development. HIF-1alpha is thought to be able to protect hypoxic cells from apoptosis or necrosis under ischemic and anoxic conditions, the major trauma factors that affect the recovery of brain and spinal cord injury. Here we report the construction of recombinant adenovirus vector overexpressing HIF-1alpha intended for gene therapy against desired neuronal injuries. The recombinant vector could be packaged and yielded significantly high viral titers at 2 x 10(13) CFU in HEK293T cells and good expression levels of HIF-1alpha when superinfected in Hela cells.
