RESUMEN

@#AIM: To compare anterior segment parameters in eyes with cataracts and different axial lengths measured with Pentacam and IOL Master.<p>METHODS: This study included 170 eyes of 143 patients diagnosed as cataract at Tangdu Hospital, Air Force Medical University. For each patient, anterior segment parameters were measured before surgery with Pentacam and IOL Master system, respectively.<p>RESULTS: There were no statistically significant differences in K1 and K2 values of eyes with long axial length(<i>P</i>>0.05). And there were statistically significant differences in K2 values(<i>P</i><0.01), but not K1 values(<i>P</i>>0.05)of eyes with short and middle axial lengths. There were statistically significant differences in ACD values of eyes with any axial length(<i>P</i><0.01). The Bland-Altman showed that ACD values of eyes with any axial length and K2 values of eyes with long and middle axial lengths were both in good agreement, and K1 values of eyes with any axial length were in great agreement.<p>CONCLUSION: Pentacam and IOL Master can be interchanged for keratometry in eyes with long axial length, but the measurements of keratometry in eyes with short and middle axial lengths and ACD of eyes with any axial length should be compared in clinical application.

RESUMEN

The precise measurement in lens thickness in vivo, provides great application value for intraocular accommodation and ametropia development mechanism research.And it has great clinical significance for the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and cataract.Currently, many ultrasonic methods and optical methods are used in measuring lens thickness.The measurement principles, advantages, disadvantages and the accuracy of the instruments are summarized in this paper.Among these methods, Orbscan II, Pentacam, Lenstar and AS-OCT can be used to measure lens thickness instead of A-scan.More important is the fact that UL-OCT can dynamically monitor the change of the lens thickness with intraocular accommodation.Choosing an instrument with higher measuring accuracy to examine the lens thickness, can provide more accurate and convincing lens thickness data for clinical and scientific research.

RESUMEN

The study on mycoflora in bottled purified d rinking water was carried out.91 Samples of products were colleted from 59 bottl ing factories in Fujian Province and were examined and identified.461 Strains of fungi were isolated from 58(63 74%)different samples.Fungi imperfecti was the e umycetes isolated most frequently.These fungi were not closely related to the ae robic bacterial count and coliform of the studied waters but was clearly associa ted with the packaging of the products.The result confirmed that the cross conta minations on the process of post-purification were the main source of fungi in the final products.
