RESUMEN

Objective To investigate the EMG characteristics and clinical application value of surface EMG in cervical muscle group of children with congenital muscular torticollis(CMT).Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on 478 children diagnosed as CMT from January 2018 to August 2022 in Rehabilitation Center of the Children's Hospital Affiliated to Chongqing Medical University. The torticollis side of the same case was included in observation group and the healthy side was included in control group.Surface EMG was used to record the electromyography root-mean-square values of bilateral sternocleidomastoid muscles, platysma muscles and upper trapezius muscles in the rest and different exercise states. The difference of root-mean-square values between the affected side and the healthy side muscle groups at rest and under different exercise states and the diagnostic value were compared.Spearman correlation analysis was used to evaluate the relationship between the severity of congenital muscular torticollis on the affected side and the root mean square value of each cervical muscle group. Results The root-mean-square value of sternocleidomastoid muscle on the affected side of CMT children was higher than that on the healthy side during relaxation and lower than that on the healthy side during contraction, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),the abnormal root-mean-square value of the affected side in the resting position and in all motion state has higher diagnostic value. The root-mean-square value of platysma muscle on the affected side was higher than that on the healthy side when it was in the resting position and the reverse neck rotation relaxed state(P<0.05),and lower than that on the healthy side when it was in the same neck rotation contraction state(P<0.05),abnormal values detected in resting sitting position and elevation of head have higher value.Root-mean-square value of upper trapezius muscle on the affected side was higher than that on the healthy side in the relaxed state(P<0.05).The abnormal values in sitting position, turning neck and bending head have high diagnostic value. The severity of CMT was positively correlated with the root-mean-square values of sternocleidomastoid muscle, platysma muscle, and upper trapezius muscle(r was 0.721,0.612,0.655,P<0.001).Conclusion sEMG could be used as a good method for the clinical diagnosis and evaluation of congenital muscular torticollis in children.

RESUMEN

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To study the clinical effect of development theory based acupuncture on early cerebral palsy (CP) infants with parafunctional sitting position.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Totally 120 early CP infants were randomly assigned to two groups equally, the treatment group and the control group. All received acupuncture combined with training rehabilitation. Patients in the treatment group adopted acupuncture based on infants development theory, while those in the control group were treated by head acupuncture. Sitting functional points in Gross motor function measure (GMFM) 88 were observed in different groups and infant patients of various types before and after treatment. Root mean square (RMS) signals of sitting correlated muscles (latissimus dorsi, erector spinae, rectus abdominis) were recorded by surface electromyography (sEMG). The effective rate was evaluated by Nimodipine method.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Compared with before treatment, sitting functional points were significantly improved in the two groups (P<0.01). After treatment, it was higher in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.01). The advance amplitude was higher in CP infants of the spastic type and the hypotonic type than other types (P<0.01). Along with sitting process, latissimus dorsi RMS signals were gradually tapered, erector spinae RMS signals were gradually enhanced, and rectus abdominis RMS signals were slightly weakened. Compared with the control group, latissimus dorsi RMS signals obviously decreased, and erector spinae RMS signals obviously increased in the treatment group after treatment (all P<0.01). The total effective rate was higher in the treatment group than in the control group (89.29% vs. 77.78%, P<0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Infants development theory based acupuncture could effectively elevate dorsi-extensor muscles force, improve sitting position of 8 months to 1 year old CP infants with parafunctional sitting position.</p>

RESUMEN

To investigate the relationship between nm23-H1 gene and human chronic myeloblastic leukemia we designed siRNAs which target nm23-H1 gene. According to the principles of designing siRNA, we selected three siRNAs and transfected them into K562 cells by lipofectamine2000. The expression levels of nm23-H1 mRNA were detected by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction after transfection for 24 hours. The expression levels of nm23-H1 protein were assayed by immunocytochemical method after transfection for 48 hours. And after transfection for 24, 48 and 72 hours, cell proliferation was determined by MTT method. Among the three siRNAs, siNM526 can effectively inhibit the expression of nm23-H1 on mRNA and protein levels. The growth of K562 cells was suppressed after transfection of siNM526. These results suggest that low expression level of nm23-H1 in K562 cells inhibited cell proliferation, namely reduced malignant degree of them. Therefore nm23-H1 gene might be a potential target of leukemia treatment.

RESUMEN

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To explore the possible mechanism of Ailing Granule (AG, a Chinese herbal preparation for nourishing Qi and activating blood circulation) in intervening HIV/AIDS.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Twenty-one HIV/AIDS patients were orally administered with AG (mainly composed of Fructus Ligustri lucidi, Radix Scutellariae, Radix Astragalus and Eupolyphaga et polyphage) by 20g, twice a day for 4 months. Their symptoms and signs were scored, T cell subgroup (CD3, CD4, CD8) and interleukin-2 (IL-2) were detected with flow-cytometry, and viral load determined with RT-PCR, as well as some indexes for safety evaluation, including ALT, Cr and BW were observed before and after treatment.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>After treatment, the symptom and sign score of patients lowered, among them the scores of fatigue, anorexia, spontaneous sweating and skin rash reduced with difference statistically (P < 0.05); the total effective rate was 61.9%; CD4 count and IL-2 level increased from 308.29 +/- 150.66/microl and 13.19 +/- 5.93 ng/L to 336.50 +/- 148.94/micro1 and 15.14 +/- 5.14 ng/L respectively( P < 0.05); while the viral load lowered but showed no significant difference. All the indexes of safety measured kept unwavering during treatment(P > 0.05).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>AG could significantly alleviate the symptoms of HIV/AIDS patients, improve their immune function, inhibit HIV reproduction to a certain extent or keep it stable. No obvious toxic or adverse reaction was seen.</p>
