RESUMEN

The common cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) neuroimaging features visible on conventional structural magnetic resonance imaging include recent small subcortical infarcts, lacunes, white matter hyperintensities, perivascular spaces, microbleeds, and brain atrophy. The CSVD neuroimaging features have shared and distinct clinical consequences, and the automatic quantification methods for these features are increasingly used in research and clinical settings. This review article explores the recent progress in CSVD neuroimaging feature quantification and provides an overview of the clinical consequences of these CSVD features as well as the possibilities of using these features as endpoints in clinical trials. The added value of CSVD neuroimaging quantification is also discussed for researches focused on the mechanism of CSVD and the prognosis in subjects with CSVD.

RESUMEN

AIM:To observe whether selective inhibition of endothelin receptor A(ETRA)improves white matter lesions(WMLs),and explore the mechanism.METHODS:Sprague-Dawley rats(n=33)were randomly divided into sham operation group(n=9),treatment group[stroke-prone renovascular hypertensive rats-modified 2 vessel occlu-sion(RHRSP-modified 2VO)+ambrisentan(n=12)]and placebo group[RHRSP-modified 2VO +vehicle(n =12)].Drug and vehicle administration was performed from 17th to 20th week and monitoring of systolic arterial pressure was performed weekly.Morris water maze test was conducted to evaluate the function of cognition. The protein levels of en-dothelin-1(ET-1)in the cortex, corpus callosum and caudate putamen were quantitatively analyzed respectively. The se-verity of WMLs and the relationship between ET-1 and vessels were observed by the method of histopathology.RESULTS:The difference of systolic arterial pressure between treatment group and placebo group was not significant. The animals in treatment group exhibited shorter escape latency(P<0.05),more times of crossing platform(P<0.05), lower level of ET-1 in corpus callosum and caudate putamen(P<0.05),respectively,improved WMLs severity(P<0.05)and lower binding level of ET-1 to vessels compared with the placebo group.CONCLUSION: Selective inhibition of endothelin receptor A improves the severity of WMLs and ameliorates the cognitive function.

RESUMEN

0.05).But in Bikini cut group, there was no intraoperative lateral femoral cutaneous nerve injury, and operation cut was so hidden and so parents were willing to accept the operation. If it was hecessary to carry out femur rotation osteotomy and internal fixation of femur, the steel plate accords with the principle of tension band,so the fixation could be stable and the fracture can easily heal up.Conclusions In the treatment of DDH,Salter pelvic osteotomy through Bikini cut has exact clinical efficacy comparing with S-P cut,and its operation cut is safe, hidden, and there is rare injury to joint function after operation.

RESUMEN

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To analyze the relationship between DNA content and biological behavior and its prognostic significance in non-small cell lung cancer.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Tumor DNA content was determined by flow cytometry in the specimens from 58 patients with resected non-small cell lung cancer. The DNA content of each cell subpopulation was expressed as the DNA index (DI), and an internal standard was provided by the normal pulmonary parenchymal cells in the same specimen. The prognostic value of DNA content in non-small cell lung cancer was assessed by Cox's model analysis.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>In qualitative analysis, there was no relationship between DNA ploidy (diploidy or aneuploidy) and the following factors: tumor size, metastasis of lymph node, clinical stage, pathologic type, pathologic grade or survival. In quantitative analysis, high DNA index was observed in tumor size > 3 cm, metastasis of lymph node, stage III/IV, adenocarcinoma and shorter survival, which was statistically significant. Cox's model analysis showed that DNA index was a prognostic factor in non-small cell lung cancer and DNA index > 2.0 was an independent prognostic factor.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>DNA index analysis is useful for the evaluation of the biological behavior and the prognosis of non-small cell lung cancer.</p>
