RESUMEN

Objective: To investigate the features of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (HEHE) in order to improve the preoperative diagnosis rate. Methods: CEUS images of 32 pathologically-proven cases of hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma from January 2004 to August 2021 were collected. Lesions were analyzed to observe the features of enhancement mode, enhancement intensity, and distinct enhancement phases. Results: Among the 32 cases, one had a solitary lesion, 29 had multiple lesions, and two had diffuse-type lesions. Contrast-enhanced ultrasound revealed a total of 42 lesions in 32 cases. In terms of arterial phase enhancement, 18 lesions had overall enhancement, six lesions had uneven dendritic enhancement, 16 lesions had rim-like enhancement, and two lesions had just slight peripheral spot enhancement around the lesions. Among the three cases, there were multiple lesions that had overall enhancement and ring enhancement. In terms of the enhancement phase, 20 lesions showed "fast progression", 20 lesions showed "same progression", and two lesions showed "slow progression". During the late arterial or early portal venous phases with rapid washout, all lesions manifested as hypoechoic. With peaked enhanced intensity, 11 lesions had a lower enhancement intensity than the surrounding normal liver parenchyma; 11 lesions had the same enhancement degree as the surrounding normal liver parenchyma; and 20 lesions had a higher enhancement degree than the surrounding normal liver parenchyma. All 16 ring-enhancing lesions had marked hyperenhancement. In the typical enhancing lesions, four showed hyperenhancement, five showed low enhancement, and nine showed isoenhancement. In the dendrite-enhancing lesions, there were two isoenhancing and four hypoenhancing. Contrast-enhanced ultrasound delineated the boundaries of all lesions more clearly than two-dimensional ultrasound. Conclusion: Contrast-enhanced ultrasound has certain value in the diagnosis of hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma.

RESUMEN

@#Abstract: Objective To analyze the epidemiological characteristics and related factors of norovirus in Guangxi from 2015 to 2020, and to provide scientific recommendations for norovirus prevention and control. Methods The foodborne diseases surveillance data were collected from 11 sentinel hospitals through the National Foodborne Disease Monitoring and Reporting System from 2015 to 2020. R software with version 4.0.3 was used for descriptive and statistical analysis, including epidemic curve, chi-square test, and trend chi-square and so on. Logistic regression was used to analyze norovirus-related factors, OR values and 95% confidence intervals were calculated respectively with the statistical test level of P<0.05. Results There were 1 008 norovirus cases detected, with a detection rate of 12.75% (1 008/7 903). Children with age less than 5 years (OR=1.43, 95%CI: 1.13-1.82) and patients at age 20-45 (OR=1.45, 95%CI: 1.13-1.87) were high risk population. The detection rate was higher in autumn (OR=1.29, 95%CI: 1.08-1.53) but lower in summer (OR=0.67, 95%CI: 0.55-0.80). In addition, the tourist area (Guilin City) presented a higher detection rate than other areas (OR=1.41, 95%CI: 1.10-1.80). Aquatic products (OR=1.40, 95%CI: 1.03-1.91), meat and dairy products (OR=1.31, 95%CI: 1.06-1.61) were high-risk foods for norovirus infection. The prevention and control policies of COVID-19 can reduce the possibility of norovirus by 61% (OR=0.39, 95%CI: 0.31-0.49) showed a declining trend (Trend χ2=85.33, P<0.001). In addition, prolonged visit time can lead to 19%-23% decrease in the detection rate of norovirus (OR24-48 hours=0.81, 95%CI: 0.70-0.95; OR>48 hours=0.77, 95%CI: 0.63-0.93). Conclusions The epidemic of norovirus presented seasonal and regional distribution in Guangxi with a declining detection rate trend in diarrhea patients during recent 6 years. Young children were high-risk population in infection norovirus. The intake of seafood can increase the risk of norovirus infection. The prevention and control policies of COVID-19 can sharply decrease the possibility of infection norovirus. The monitoring of key foods such as seafood should be strengthened, and the early screening of suspected cases should be taken. The norovirus monitoring should be improved to ensure the health of the population.

RESUMEN

Xiaoruwan is one of the classic prescriptions included in the Catalogue of Ancient Classic Prescriptions (the Second Batch of Pediatrics) published by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) in 2022 with definite clinical efficacy, but it has not been converted into Chinese patent medicine preparations. The authors collected 173 pieces of data based on ancient literature on Xiaoruwan by the method of bibliometrics and selected 99 pieces of effective data, involving 46 ancient books of TCM. The study analyzed the historical development origin, prescription names, formulation rules, dosage, drug origin, preparation method and usage, indications and functions, and other aspects of Xiaoruwan. The results showed that Xiaoruwan was presumably derived from Ying Hai Miao Jue Lun(《婴孩妙诀论》) written by TANG Minwang, a doctor in the Song Dynasty. In the records of ancient medical books, there are names such as Xiaoshiwan,Yangshi Xiaoruwan, and Kuaige Xiaoshiwan, but they are mainly recorded in the name of Xiaoruwan. The prescription was composed of Cyperi Rhizoma, Amomi Fructus, Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, Massa Medicata Fermentata, Hordei Fructus Germinatus, and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma. In terms of processing method, Cyperi Rhizoma, Massa Medicata Fermentata, and Hordei Fructus Germinatus are fried, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma is processed, and raw materials of Amomi Fructus and Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium are used directly. In terms of function, it is effective in warming the middle, improving digestion, stopping vomiting, and digesting milk and food. The main indications include vomiting, diarrhea, night crying, and other diseases caused by milk and food stagnation. The dosage of the most used prescription in the records of ancient books is Cyperi Rhizoma 41.30 g, Amomi Fructus 20.65 g, Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium 20.65 g, Massa Medicata Fermentata 20.65 g, Hordei Fructus Germinatus 20.65 g, and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma 20.65 g, which are prepared into pills. In the taking method, it is recommended to take it with warm boiled water or ginger soup after meals. The study summarized the historical evolution of Xiaoruwan and identified the key information, with a view to providing a reference for the modern development and research of Xiaoruwan.

RESUMEN

ObjectiveTo study the changes of microbiota in different intestinal niches in the instance of diarrhea with intestinal dampness-heat syndrome and cold-dampness disturbing spleen syndrome, so as to provide objective evidence for treating diarrhea with different methods from the perspective of intestinal flora. MethodThe 16S rRNA gene high-throughput sequencing data of model mice with diarrhea of the two syndromes and the model mice after prescription intervention were retrieved from National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), and the intestinal dominant bacteria and microbial functions were compared among groups. Spearman's correlation coefficient among the microorganisms in each group was calculated and the co-occurrence networks of intestinal microbiota were constructed to study the interaction of the microbiota. ResultThe microbiota imbalance in intestinal contents of mice with diarrhea of intestinal dampness-heat syndrome was characterized by the enrichment of Muribaculum and Aerococcus, while the imbalance in intestinal mucosa was manifested by the enrichment of Gram-negative Neisseria, Capnocytophaga, and Prevotella (P<0.05). However, after the treatment with Gegen Qinliantang, the microbiota in two distinct ecosystems was characterized by the enrichment of Lactobacillus and the abundance of Streptococcus in intestinal mucosa was increased. The microbiota imbalance in intestinal contents of diarrhea with cold-dampness disturbing spleen syndrome was characterized by the enrichment of Lactobacillus (P<0.01) and Clostridium sensu stricto 1, while the intestinal mucosa was dominated by the increase of Candidatus arthromitus and Enterobacter. However, after the treatment with Huoxiang Zhengqi powder, the intestinal contents were characterized by Lactobacillus enrichment, while the intestinal mucosal flora was featured by the enrichment of C. arthromitus, Pseudomonas, and Bacillus. Overall, the contribution of dominant bacteria in intestinal mucosa to the difference was higher than that in intestinal contents, and more dominant bacteria in the intestinal mucosa interacted with other bacteria. ConclusionMicrobiota imbalance is different for diarrhea of different syndromes, and the therapeutic effects of corresponding prescriptions are also different. In addition, the microbiota imbalance has different characteristics between intestinal niches for mice with diarrhea of the same syndrome. Therefore, intestinal flora may be one of the biological bases for exploring the characteristics of "treating the diarrhea with different methods" in Chinese medicine.

RESUMEN

Due to their high catalytic activity and substrate specificity, enzymes have broad applications in commodity chemistry, medicine, food manufacturing, pollution prevention and control, etc. However, their actual applications are compromised by disadvantages such as difficulty to separate and purify, high cost and poor stability. It is of great significance to explore artificial substitutes for enzymes. Ferroferric oxide nanoparticles were reported to have peroxidase-like activity by Dr. Xiyun Yan for the first time in 2007. Since then the researches about nanomaterials with catalytic activities have emerged in large numbers. In addition to peroxidase-like activities, nanomaterials also possessed many enzyme-like catalytic activities such as oxidase, superoxide dismutase and catalase. Nanomaterials with enzyme-like activities are usually referred as nanozymes. As an alternative to natural enzymes, nanozymes possess characteristics such as low costs, easy mass production, high stability and adjustable activity. Those nanozyme characteristics have broad applications in environmental monitoring and management, disease diagnosis and treatment, food safety control, etc. However, low catalytic efficiency and specificity limit further applications of nanozymes. Therefore, enhancing the catalytic activities and selectivity of nanozymes will promote their applications. The catalytic activity of nanozymes can be regulated by changes in nanomaterials (size, morphology and surface modification) and catalytic reaction conditions (temperature, pH, accelerators, light irradiation, etc.), mixing of different nanomaterials, nanomaterial hybridization, and so on. The most widely used catalytic activity of nanozymes is peroxidase-like activity. This review summarizes the strategies to enhance peroxidase-like activities of nanomaterials, mainly focuses on catalytic efficiency and substrate specificity. It is expected that readers can have a comprehensive understanding of the strategies to enhance the enzyme-like activity of nanomaterials.

RESUMEN

Objective@#Cytoreductive surgery followed by adjuvant chemotherapy is a standard frontline treatment for epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). We aimed to develop an ovarian cancer risk score (OVRS) based on the expression of 10 ovarian-cancer-related genes to predict the chemoresistance, and outcomes of EOC patients. @*Methods@#We designed a case-control study with total 149 EOC women including 75 chemosensitives and 74 chemoresistants. Gene expression was measured using the quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. We tested for correlation between the OVRS and chemosensitivity or chemoresistance, disease-free survival (DFS), and overall survival (OS), and validated the OVRS by analyzing patients from the TCGA database. @*Results@#The chemosensitive group had lower OVRS than the chemoresistant group (5 vs.15, p≤0.001, Mann-Whitney U test). Patients with disease relapse (13 vs. 5, p60 months) of patients with OVRS ≥10 were significantly shorter than those of patients with OVRS <9). The high OVRS group also had significantly shorter median OS than the low OVRS group in 255 patients in the TCGA database (39 vs. 49 months, p=0.046). @*Conclusions@#Specific genes panel can be clinically applied in predicting the chemoresistance and outcome, and decision-making of epithelial ovarian cancer.

RESUMEN

Objective To study the effect of metabolic syndrome on the fertility and reproduction in model animals. Methods The model of"high fat diet for spontaneously hypertensive rats(SHR)"was adopted to construct the model of metabolic syndrome in rats. The metabolic syndrome model rats were used to mate with male and female 1 : 1 cage, and the mating cycle was 2 weeks. Results After the SHR rats were fed a high-fat diet for 10 weeks, 16 males and 15 females met the screening criteria for metabolic syndrome, with the modeling rates of 40% and 37.5%, respectively. In addition to the abnormal metabolism-related indicators(such as blood glucose, blood lipid and blood pressure), the male rats with metabolic syndrome mainly had decreased sperm motility(P < 0.05), increased sperm malformation rate(P < 0.01), and decreased mating rate(P < 0.05). In addition to abnormal metabolism-related indicators, the conception rate and the live fetal rate of the female rats with metabolic syndrome were slightly lower than that of the control group; however, there was no statistical difference. The mean birth weight of the litter was significantly lower than that of the control group(P < 0.05). Conclusion According to the whole process from mating to natural production, metabolic syndrome is determined to have a significant effect on the fertility and reproductive ability of rats.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND@#Postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is a common childhood disease that seriously affects the patient's physical and mental health. This study aimed to investigate whether pre-treatment baseline left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and left ventricular fractional shortening (LVFS) values were associated with symptom improvement after metoprolol therapy for children and adolescents with POTS.@*METHODS@#This retrospective study evaluated 51 children and adolescents with POTS who received metoprolol therapy at the Peking University First Hospital between November 2010 and July 2019. All patients had completed a standing test or basic head-up tilt test and cardiac echocardiography before treatment. Treatment response was evaluated 3 months after starting metoprolol therapy. The pre-treatment baseline LVEF and LVFS values were evaluated for correlations with decreases in the symptom score after treatment (ΔSS). Multivariable analysis was performed using factors with a P value of  0.050). However, responders had significantly higher baseline LVEF (71.09% ± 4.44% vs. 67.17% ± 4.88%, t = -2.789, P = 0.008) and LVFS values (40.00 [38.00, 42.00]% vs. 36.79% ± 4.11%, Z = -2.542, P = 0.010) than the non-responders. The baseline LVEF and LVFS were positively correlated with ΔSS (r = 0.378, P = 0.006; r = 0.363, P = 0.009), respectively. Logistic regression analysis revealed that LVEF was independently associated with the response to metoprolol therapy in children and adolescents with POTS (odds ratio: 1.201, 95% confidence interval: 1.039-1.387, P = 0.013).@*CONCLUSIONS@#Pre-treatment baseline LVEF was associated with symptom improvement after metoprolol treatment for children and adolescents with POTS.

RESUMEN

Objective:To establish a comet test method for detection of genotoxicity of three reference chemicals in rat liver cells. Methods:6-10 week old Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into 4 groups, with normal saline (0.9% NaCl solution) as negative control group. Animals in three test groups were treated, respectively, with ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS) 200 mg/kg, N-methyl-N-nitrosourea (MNU) 50 mg/kg, and D-mannitol 2 000 mg/kg. There were 10 animals in each group, 5 males and 5 females. The animals received two times (21 h interval) of test compounds through intragastric administration, and their clinical symptoms and body weight changes were recorded during the experiment. The rats were sacrificed 3 h after the last exposure. The liver was weighed, then used to prepare single-cell suspensions for the alkaline comet test which determines the average tail DNA content percentage (DNA%) of hepatocytes and other comet indicators. Results:(1) D-mannitol, EMS and MNU did not show significant toxicity in the whole animal. (2) The mean values of tail DNA content percentage (DNA%) of rat hepatocytes in EMS [(60.07±24.69)%] and MNU [(41.66±22.35)%] groups were higher than that in the negative control group [(2.32±1.39)%] and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The difference between D-mannitol group [(3.06±3.30)%] and the negative control group was not significant (P>0.05). Conclusion:This laboratory has established a comet test method using hepatocytes from treated rats. Among three testing chemicals, EMS and MNU have displayed genotoxicity by this assay, but no genotoxicity was observed in D-mannitol treated animals.

RESUMEN

The classical prescription Kaixinsan, which is recorded in an ancient medical book named Beiji Qianjin Yaofang,is one of the famous prescriptions used by ancient physicians to treat amnesia. Research on classical prescriptions has attracted more and more attention from scientific research institutions and related enterprises. Based on ancient books, textual research on origins and development of prescriptions, combing the evolution of prescriptions, preparations, oral ways, taboos and others are the important contents of the study on classical prescriptions. The research results show that the creation of Kaixinsan in Beiji Qianjin Yaofang can be traced back to Kaixinsan recorded in Jiyanfang and Dingzhiwan recorded in Gujinluyanfang. Later generations of physicians created many associated prescriptions in the process of applying Kaixinsan, and the efficacy of these prescriptions was constantly expanded with the development of the times. In the Tang and Song dynasties,Kaixinsan and its associated prescriptions were mainly used to treat amnesia, sorrow, fear, and other diseases. In the Jin and Yuan dynasties, these prescriptions were also used to treat convulsions and yawning. In the Ming dynasty, they were mainly for the treatment of hyperopia, myopia, sprematorrhea, and constipation. In the Qing dynasty, these herbs could be used to treat auricular deafness, aging and sweating. The dosage of Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma and Poria should be increased in the treatment of farsightedness, spermatorrhea and blurred urine, and in the treatment of nearsightedness, the dosage of Polygalae Radix and Haliotidis Concha should be increased. The main pathogenesis of the disease that Kaixinsan and its associated prescriptions treated could be summarized as the deficiency of heart and spleen, imbalance between heart-Yang and kidney-Yin,and the internal resistance of phlegm stagnation. By summarizing the contents of the preparation of tradition Chinese medicine products for Kaixinsan and its associated prescriptions,it is suggested that the dosage form of Kaixinsan can be pills, with the specification size confroming to the most record of ancient generations of physicians,as big as Firmiana platanifolia's fruit. The volume of a single pill is about 0.25 mL and the weight is about 0.3 g. The initial dosage is fifteen pills, which can be modified according to the severity of the illness, with no more than forty pills for each time, three times a day. Also, some excitant food like the sour food, sweet food and mutton should be avoided during the medication. The above research results can provide literature basis for the development of compound tradition Chinese Medicine preparation of Kaixinsan.

RESUMEN

The Shentong Zhuyutang is recorded in an ancient medical book named Yilin Gaicuo, and it is one of the classical prescriptions. Based on the literature reviewed,it is generally found that the Shentong Zhuyutang is evolved from the prescription named Chentongsan that recorded by Danxi Xinfa. Statistics on the dosage of clinical research on this prescription in recent years, reference to the textbook and pharmacopoeia dose, at the same time to respect the original dosage, verify historical changes, and ensure the safety of prescriptions, at the same time consider the pharmacy's dispenses, the author recommends that the clinical dosage of Shentong Zhuyutang could be 3 gram of Gentianae Macrophyllae Radix, 6 gram of Chuanxiong Rhizoma, 10 gram of Persicae Semen, 10 gram of Carthami Flos, 6 gram of Glycyrrhizae Radix Et Rhizoma, 3 gram of Notopterygii Rhizoma Et Radix, 5 gram of Myrrha, 12 gram of Angelicae Sinensis Radix, 5 gram of Cyperi Rhizoma,12 gram of Cyathulae Radix, and 6 gram of Pheretima used as a reference. The efficacy of the compound preparation can be marked as promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis, removing wind and dampness, and relieving pain. At present, most of its research is focused on clinical research and experimental research, and there are few literature on the research of Shentong Zhuyutang from the level of key information verification. The diseases it treats include more than 10, such as Gubi, Pibi, Xuebi, shechuanchuan, headache, postpartum pain and dysmenorrhea, especially in the study of Gubi, which means that it has a huge market demand and broad development prospects in orthopedic diseases, the core point of "blood stasis and cold dampness evil" should be closely held in the course of treatment. Some scholars deem that Shentong Zhuyutang should not be used the method of Force Sweat in the treatment of Bizheng, while others believe that this prescription should be used with caution in menstruation, pregnancy and blood deficiency. Modern pharmacological studies have shown that Shentong Zhuyutang has obvious anti-inflammatory, relieve pain, anticoagulan, nerve and bone protection. In view of the fact that there are less researches on Shentong Zhuyutang except for Gubi, this suggests that the mechanism of this prescription treat other diseases has a relatively broad research space.

RESUMEN

Diarrhea is characterized by increased bowel movements and loose and even watery stools. Its occurrence and development have been proved by modern research to be closely related to the imbalance of intestinal flora. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) pays a special attention to syndrome differentiation in treating diarrhea. Exploring the TCM syndromes of diarrhea is of great significance to the formulation of TCM diagnosis and treatment scheme of diarrhea and the improvement of clinical curative effects. There exist many similarities between TCM theory and micro-ecological theory concerning diarrhea. With the deepening of intestinal flora research, the significance of intestinal flora in TCM syndrome research has been increasingly highlighted. The close correlation of intestinal flora with the occurrence and development of diarrhea has provided new ideas of deducing syndrome and selecting prescription based on intestinal flora. This paper summarized the relationship between TCM syndromes of diarrhea and microscopic indexes such as immune response, neurotransmitters, brain-gut peptide, and proteins and analyzed the intestinal flora characteristics related to six common TCM syndromes of diarrhea. Meanwhile, based on the theory of deducing syndrome by prescription, namely deducing the syndrome by the efficacy of prescription or its medicinal components, the correlation between TCM syndromes of diarrhea and intestinal flora was indirectly verified, so as to identify the research direction of correlation between intestinal flora and TCM syndromes in the future. Numerous studies have shown that the TCM syndromes of diarrhea were highly correlated with the microscopic indexes such as inflammatory cytokines, neurotransmitters, and proteins. Syndromes and dysbacteriosis both resulted from pathogenic factors acting on the body, which were summarized from different angles. Different TCM syndromes corresponded to specific objective indicators of intestinal flora. Intestinal flora has the potential of being an internal material basis for powerfully revealing the TCM syndromes of diarrhea in the future.

RESUMEN

Kaixinsan recorded in an ancient medical book named Beiji Qianjin Yaofang is one of the famous classical formula, which is one of the common prescriptions used by ancient physicians to treat amnesia. In the process of using this prescription, later generations of physicians derived many kinds of associated prescriptions. The effect and indications of these prescription have been inherited and expanded from those in the Beiji Qianjin Yaofang because of the changes in dosages. Therefore,it is necessary to verify the effect and indications of the formulas and the rules of dosage changes. The research results showed that its basic effects included to nourish the mind, induce resuscitation, strengthen the spleen and calm the mind, and keep balance between heart-Yang and kidney-Yin. The main indications included amnesia, sorrow and sadness, fright and fear, and so on,which may differ slightly in different dynasties. In Song,Jin and Yuan dynasties,it also demonstrated the effect of warming the heart and Yang, clearing away heat and relieving wind besides the basic effects, with basically the same indications (slightly different from those in previous dynasties). In Ming dynasty,it demonstrated the effect of nourishing Yin,clearing away heat and nourishing blood besides the basic effects, and the indications expanded to farsightedness, nearsightedness, spermatorrhea and blurred urine. In the Qing dynasty, its effect also included to nourish the heart and kidney on the basis of the Ming dynasty, and the indications were basically the same with those in the previous dynasties. The compatibility ratio of ancient physicians in the application of this prescription and its associated prescriptions showed some remarkable features, for example,Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma and Poria should be increased and their ratio was≈1∶1 in the treatment of amnesia, sorrow, sadness, fright, fear, farsightedness, spermatorrhea and blurred urine, with ratio of Polygalae Radix to Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma≈1∶1; the dosage of Polygalae Radix and Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma should be increased in the treatment of nearsightedness, and their ratio was≈1∶1. The compatibility ratio of Polygalae Radix-Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma-Poria-Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma=2∶3∶3∶2 was the most frequent, which basically included the indications of this prescription and its associated prescriptions. According to statistics, the average dosages that ancient physicians used were significantly higher than those in the modern times,Polygalae Radix 57 g,Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma 62 g,Poria 70 g,and Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma 54 g,respectively in ancient times, while Polygalae Radix 11 g,Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma 15 g,Poria 17 g,and Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma 9.5 g,respectively in modern times. The above textual research results can provide some reference for preparation of tradition Chinese medicine products of Kaixinsan.

RESUMEN

Objective:To observe the regulatory effect of modified Shengmaiyin adjuvant chemotherapy on the nutritional status and immune function of children with acute lymphocyte (ALL). Method:One hundred children with ALL chemotherapy were randomly divided into observation group and control group. Both groups were given VDLD regimen as the induction therapy and CAM regimen as the early therapy. Control group was given Shengmaiyin orally, 10 mL/time, 3 times/day. Observation group was given modified Shengmaiyin orally, 1 does/day. The course of treatment for both groups was 3 months. Micro-nutrition assessment (MNA) was carried out before and after treatment, and serum total protein (TB), albumin (ALB), prealbumin (PAB), T cell CD4+, CD8+, immunoglobulin G (IgG), IgM, IgA levels were detected before and after treatment. The ratio of CD4+/CD8+ was calculated. The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome before and after treatment and the piper fatigue scale (PFS-R) and universal core scale of children's quality of life (PedsQL) were scored. The changes of white blood cells (WBC), red blood cells (RBC), hemoglobin (Hb) and platelets (PLT) were evaluated before and after treatment. Result:The nutritional status of the observation group was better than that of the control group after treatment (Z=2.018, P<0.05). The observed fatigue was lighter than that of the control group (Z=2.029, P<0.05). The MNA score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.01). The scores of PFS-R and deficiency of both Qi and blood were lower than those of the control group (P<0.01). The CD4+ levels and CD4+/CD8+ levels of TB, ALB and PAB in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.01), while the CD8+ was lower than the control group (P<0.01). The IgM and IgA levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.01). The RBC, Hb and PLT levels of the observation group were higher than those of the control group (P<0.01). Conclusion:Modified Shengmaiyin can be used as adjuvant therapy for children with ALL chemotherapy by improving nutritional status, immune function and immune balance, reducing clinical symptoms, promoting the recovery of hematopoietic system and improving the quality of life.

RESUMEN

Objective:To re-evaluate the intervention effect of Kuijietong(KJT) on ulcerative colitis(UC). Method:Sixty patients with mild-to-moderate UC in the active stage were enrolled and randomized into a KJT group (n=30) and a sulfasalazine (SASP) group (n=30). Patients in the KJT group were treated with KJT granules, one bag divided in two daily doses, once in the morning and once in the evening, while those in the SASP group received SASP, 1 g per time, four times per day. Then the clinical efficacy was evaluated. Result:According to the modified Mayo score, the clinical remission rates of the KJT group and SASP group were determined to be 46.7% (14/30)and 40% (12/30),exhibiting no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). The clinical effective rate of the KJT group was 83.3% (25/30),which was better than 60% (18/30) of the SASP group (P<0.05). The mucosal healing rate in the KJT group was 36.7% (11/30), not significantly different from 30% (9/30) in the SASP group. In the alleviation of UC symptoms, the score of large intestine dampness heat syndrome in the KJT group was remarkably better than that in the SASP group (P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in inflammatory bowel disease questionnaire (IBDQ) score between the two groups. In terms of physical and chemical indexes, serum erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) in the KJT group after intervention was lower than that in the SASP group (P<0.05),whereas the interleukin-10 (IL-10) level was higher(P<0.05). The comparison between the two groups revealed no significant difference in C-reactive protein (CRP), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), CD4+ T cells and regulatory T (Treg) cells after intervention. During the intervention,no obvious adverse reactions were found in the two groups, indicating good safety. Conclusion:KJT is not inferior to SASP in relieving mild-to-moderate UC in the active stage.
