RESUMEN

We report the successful management of a pregnant woman with para-Bombay phenotype. The woman received routine prenatal check-ups and underwent vaginal delivery in the Affiliated Shenzhen Maternity & Child Healthcare Hospital. Blood grouping at 12 weeks of pregnancy showed that the forward typing of the patient was group O, but reverse typing indicated group AB. Her ABO genotype was determined as ABO*A1.02/B.01. There was c.551-552del AG and c.880-882 del TT in the FUT1 gene, and 357C>T and 716G>A in the FUT2 gene. Thus, her FUT1 genotype was h1/h2 and FUT2 genotype was Se/Se. No significant abnormalities were found in the routine prenatal examination. A male infant was born vaginally at 39 +2 gestational weeks, who was grouped as B-positive without neonatal hemolytic disease. Para-Bombay is a rare blood group. It is necessary to clarify the blood type during prenatal examination and develop a management strategy for those with special blood groups to reduce the incidence of postpartum hemorrhage and ensure safe delivery.

RESUMEN

Objective:To compare the clinical effects of sheath excision and sheath turnover in the treatment of testicular hydrocele. Methods:From January 2016 to December 2018, 84 patients with testicular hydrocele admitted to the Fifth Hospital of Jinhua were divided into resection group (42 cases received resection) and inversion group (42 cases received inversion operation). The therapeutic effect and complications of the two groups were compared. Results:The operation time[(15.06±1.84)min vs.(17.91±2.13)min], intraoperative bleeding[(5.53±1.22)mL vs.(6.72±1.51)mL] and the size of scrotal cyst swelling[(1.67±0.42)cm vs.(2.79±0.55)cm] between the two groups had statistically significant differences ( t=6.562, 3.973, 10.489, all P<0.05). There were no statistically significant differences in hospitalization time and body temperature between the two groups (all P>0.05). The cured and markedly effective rate of the resection group was 90.48%(38/42), which was higher than 69.05%(29/42) of the inversion group(χ 2=4.720, P<0.05). No complications or recurrence were found in the two groups after 6 months of follow-up. Conclusion:Excision and sheath reversal are common methods for the treatment of testicular hydrocele, but the former is recommended for its short operation time, less bleeding during operation and less swelling reaction after operation.

RESUMEN

Purpose To investigate the clinical value of three-dimensional hysterosalpingo-contrast-sonography (3D-HyCoSy) in the assessment of fallopian tubal patency.Materials and Methods Fallopian tubal patency of 33 infertile women was assessed using transvaginal 3D-HyCoSy, and the results were compared with laparoscopically salpingoraphy, the sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio and negative likelihood ratio of 3D-HyCoSy were evaluated. Results 3D-HyCoSy showed 20 passable fallopian tubes, 10 partially passable fallopian tubes and 36 obstructed tubes, while lapascopically salpingoraphy showed 23 passable fallopian tubes, 7 partially passable fallopian tubes and 36 obstructed tubes. The total coincidence rate of 3D-HyCoSy to assess the fallopian tubal patency was 86.4% (57/66), with the sensitivity of 93.0% (40/43), specificityof 73.9% (17/23), positive likelihood ratio of 7.15, and negative likelihood ratio of 0.20.Conclusion Tubal patency can be efficiently and accurately assessed using 3D-HyCoSy, but patients with obstructed or partially passable fallopian tubes should undergo laparoscopy to clarify.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND:Diabetic cystopathy is one of the most common chronic diabetic complications. The establishment of animal models of diabetic cystopathy wil provide experimental animal platform for relevant research. OBJECTIVE:To establish a guinea pig model of diabetic cystopathy and to evaluate its urodynamic characteristics. METHODS:Fifty short-hair Britain female guinea pigs were randomly divided into two groups, 42 as the experiment group and the other 8 as the control group. The experiment group was intraperitoneal y injected with streptozotocin to induce diabetes. The control group received injection of blank citric acid buffered solution. Diabetic guinea pigs were detected by urinary dynamics test at 9 and 12 weeks. Diabetic guinea pigs were further assigned into diabetic cystopathy subgroup and compensated subgroup. The urodynamic parameters of three groups were compared. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Twenty of 42 guinea pigs were successful y induced diabetes by the injection of streptozotocin. At 9 weeks after the injection, bladder function compensation was present in six diabetic guinea pigs while bladder function was decompensated in another three diabetic guinea pigs. At 12 weeks, bladder function compensation was present in one diabetic guinea pig, while another eight guinea pigs were confirmed with diabetic cystopathy (88.89%). In the diabetic cystopathy subgroup, the residual urine volume was increased (0.72±0.08) mL, maximal detrusor pressure was decreased (0.63±0.05) kPa, maximum bladder capacity was increased (2.01±0.05) mL, and bladder compliance was increased (0.34±0.04) mL/kPa. There were significant differences compared with the compensated subgroup and the control group (P<0.001). Diabetic cystopathy occurs at 12 weeks after diabetic models are successful y established in guinea pigs, and urodynamic changes are mainly the increase of residual urine volume.
