RESUMEN

OBJECTIVETo investigate the expression of E-cadherin, vimentin, β-catenin and transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) in oral squamous cell carcinomas (OSCC).

METHODSEighty-nine cases of OSCC and 20 cases of normal oral mucosa were collected. Then the 89 cases of OSCC were classified as grade I, II, III. The semiquantitative method was used to calculated the positive intensity and positive rate. The relationship between the OSCC differentiation and the four biomarkers was analyzed.

RESULTSThe median of E-cadherin was 9.00 in the normal tissue, 9.00, 6.00 and 6.00 in OSCC I, II and III, respectively. There was significant difference between the normal group and OSCC group (Z=-4.211, P=0.000). The median of vimentin was 0.00 in the normal tissue, 0.00, 0.00 and 4.00 in OSCC I, II and III, respectively. There was significant difference between the normal group and OSCC group (Z=-3.675, P=0.000). The median of β-catenin was 9.00 in the normal tissue, 3.00, 4.00 and 3.00 in OSCC I, II and III, respectively. There was significant difference between the normal group and OSCC group (Z=-6.300, respectively. There was significant difference between the normal group and OSCC group (Z=-3.329, P=0.000). E-cadherin expression was positively correlated to β-catenin expression (r=0.327, P=0.002), negtively correlated to vimentin expression (r=-0.386, P=0.001) and positively correlated to TGF-β1 expression (r=-0.304, P=0.004). Vimentin expression was positively correlated to TGF-β1 expression (r=0.401, P=0.000).

CONCLUSIONSE-cadherin and β-catenin in OSCC had a down-regulated expression, while the vimentin has an up-regulated expression.

RESUMEN

This article reported researches on the pattern recognition of finger key-press gestures based on surface electromyographic (SEMG) signals. All the gestures were defined referring to the PC standard keyboard, and totally 16 sorts of key-press gestures relating to the right hand were defined. The SEMG signals were collected from the forearm of the subjects by 4 sensors. And two kinds of pattern recognition experiments were designed and implemented for exploring the feasibility and repeatability of the key-press gesture recognition based on SEMG signals. The results from 6 subjects showed, by using the same-day templates, that the average classification rates of 16 defined key-press gestures reached above 75.8%. Moreover, when the training samples added up to 5 days, the recognition accuracies approached those obtained with the same-day templates. The experimental results confirm the feasibility and repeatability of SEMG-based key-press gestures classification, which is meaningful for the implementation of myoelectric control-based virtual keyboard interaction.

RESUMEN

The sterilization effects of constant electromagnetic wave and instant pulse on foods and traditional Chinese medical pills are introduced in this paper. From the velum's voltage variation caused by the outward electric filed, the dielectric properties of membranaceous ion and the pass rate of the membranaceous ion, we could analyze the biological heating effect and the biological non-heating effect. The sterilization effect of constant electromagnetic wave is based on the biological heating effect, while the instant electromagnetic pulse is based on the biological non-heating effect. With the applied electronic field, the voltage of membrane could increase, which results in the gates of K+ open, and the flowing out of K+. And the variation of the membranaceous voltage makes the gates of Ca2+ open. The Ca2+ of large consistency could come into the cell by the gradient of voltage. It could induce the death of the cells. The greater the variation of membranaceous voltage becomes, the higher will be the death rate of the cells.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE:To explore the preventive effect of biomembrane on tendon adhesion. METHODS:A total of 40 Chinese articles about randomized controlled animal experiments and clinical applications which were focus on the preventive effect of biomembrane on tendon adhesion published from 1990 to 2008 were collected. And then, those articles were summed up based on experimental animals, grouping, materials, methods, results, and conclusions. Furthermore, clinical subjects received biomembrane were generally analyzed, and following up and functional evaluation were performed to overall summarize the clinical application of biomembrane for preventing tendon adhesion. RESULTS:Six out of nine articles suggested that cock was the major experimental animals, and the biomembrane could effectively prevent tendon adhesion due to good histocompatibility and permeability, and no effect on normal healing of tendon;therefore,it was an ideal material. Eight out of twelve articles suggested that there were no significant differences in biomembrane between age, sex, and injured region. Evaluation criterion in the domain of total range of active movement and active range of each joint demonstrated that biomembrane could successfully prevent tendon adhesion. CONCLUSION:Biomembrane is an excellent anti-adhesive materials with good histocompatibility and permeability.

RESUMEN

Hyperplasia of germs in biologic cell can consume certain amount of oxygen and thus will lay the foundation on which to metabolize and produce some substance. Using a Biologic cell, we have designed a kind of electric equipment for measurement which can quickly detect the environment-polluted germs, and take a sample of the environment-polluted germs in fresh milk and the microzyme in the process of beer produced. Adding proper amount of bio-coenzyme and ion-incentive to the germs liquor, we use the electric equipment to detect the sample in order to investigate the process of electron generation and germ's metabolization, including the measurement of the oxidation-reduction between the pole and the coenzyme, and the electrochemistry process of every reaction matter in the liquor. The result of our study shows that the method can effectively check the germ's number in fresh milk, and when compared to the traditional method (plate cultivating germs), it has the advantages of quickness, convenience and timeliness.
