RESUMEN

Objective To explore the feasibility of low-concentration contrast agent and low-dose technology for pulmonary angiography by comparing the image quality and radiation doses to the patient by different tube voltages and concentrations of contrast agents. Methods Totally 60 patients suspected with pulmonary embolism were divided into C, L1 and L2 groups, of which,Group C had the scanning parameters of 120 kV and 350 mgI/ml,Group L1 had the parameters as 100 kV and 350 mgI/ml and Group L2 had the parameters of 100 kV and 270 mgI/ml.The three groups had the tube voltage as 500 mA, the contrast agent dose as 25 ml,physiological saline dose as 40 ml and flow rate as 4.5 ml/s.SPSS 19.0 software was used to compare and analyze the CT values of pulmonary artery segment, superior vena cava and ascending aorta, main pulmonary artery noises, the image quality as well as the radiation doses of volume scanning. Results The three groups had the main pulmonary aortas and their branches display clearly to meet clinical requirements. When compared with Group C,Group L1 had higher CT values of the main pulmonary aorta and its branches, higher image noise while lower radiation dose (P<0.01);Group L2 had equivalent CT values of the main pulmonary aorta and its branches (P>0.05),higher image noise while lower radiation dose (P<0.01).When compared with Group L1,Group L2 had lower CT values of the main pulmonary aorta and its branches (P<0.01),and equivalent image noise and radiation dose (P>0.05).Conclusion Low-concentration contrast agent and low-dose technology gains feasibility and advantages when used in 320-slice CT pulmonary angiography.

RESUMEN

Objective To investigate the values of320-slice CTA for the diagnosis and intraoperative application ofintracranial small aneurysms.Metbods Fifty patients with pathologically confirmed intracranial small aneurysms were selected as the study subjects from January 2012 to June 2016.All the patients underwent 320-slice CT examination, and then the diagnostic values of 320-slice CT were discussed. Results Totally 48 patients were confirmed with intracranial small aneurysms and the diagnostic accordance rate was 96%,and there was missed diagnosis in 2 patients and no patients mis-diagnosed.The results by 320-slice CTA were mostly consistent with those by pathological examination.320-slice CTA displayed the site, shape, size, aneurysm neck height and adjacent structure of intracranial small aneurysms clearly in 49 patients, and undeveloped aneurysms due to narrow entrance or intraluminal thrombosis occurred in 1 patient. Conclusion 320-slice CTA gains advantages in diagnosing intracranial small aneurysms such as non invasion and high convenience and provides basis for clinical treatment, and thus is worthy promoting clinically.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To explore the usefulness of 320-slice CT angiography (CTA) for evaluating the course of the anterior ethmoidal artery (AEA) and its relationship with adjacent structures by using three-dimensional (3D) spin digital subtraction angiography (DSA) as standard reference. MATERIALS AND METHODS: From December 2008 to December 2010, 32 patients with cerebrovascular disease, who underwent both cranial 3D spin DSA and 320-slice CTA within a 30 day period from each other, were retrospectively reviewed. AEA course in ethmoid was analyzed in DSA and CTA. In addition, adjacent bony landmarks (bony notch in medial orbital wall, anterior ethmoidal canal, and anterior ethmoidal sulcus) were evaluated with CTA using the MPR technique oriented along the axial, coronal and oblique coronal planes in all patients. The dose length product (DLP) for CTA and the dose-area product (DAP) for 3D spin DSA were recorded. Effective dose (ED) was calculated. RESULTS: The entire course of the AEA was seen in all 32 cases (100%) with 3D spine DSA and in 29 of 32 cases (90.1%) with 320-slice CTA, with no significant difference (p = 0.24). In three cases where AEA was not visualized on 320-slice CTA, two were due to the dominant posterior ethmoidal artery, while the remaining case was due to diminutive AEA. On MPR images of 320-slice CT, a bony notch in the orbital medial walls was detected in all cases (100%, 64 of 64); anterior ethmoidal canal was seen in 28 of 64 cases (43.8%), and the anterior ethmoidal sulcus was seen in 63 of 64 cases (98.4%). The mean effective dose in CTA was 0.6 +/- 0.25 mSv, which was significantly lower than for 3D spin DSA (1.3 +/- 0.01 mSv) (p < 0.001). CONCLUSION: 320-slice CTA has a similar detection rate for AEA to that of 3D spin DSA; however, it is noninvasive, and may be preferentially used for the evaluation of AEA and its adjacent bony variations and pathologic changes in preoperative patients with paranasal sinus diseases.

RESUMEN

Objective To evaluate the function imaging ability and dose for whole organ imaging of Aquilion ONE 320 Slice CT.Methods Aquilion ONE 320 Slice CT adpoted wide volume imaging mode to acquire 4D dynamic imaging results, then the expose dose was compared with that of 64 slice CT.Results 320 slice CT,with advantages in dynamic volume imaging and function imaging when compared with traditional spiral CT,restrained its organ time resolution to 0.35s,and thus the acquisition time and exposure dose was decreased. The motion artifact was reduced and image quality was enhanced. Conclusion 320 slice dynamic volume CT,with zero phase delay, can realize CT 4D function imaging.
