RESUMEN

Objective@#To observe serum levels of periostin, ECP, IgE in the antibiotic enterprise workers, and study the role of periostin, ECP, IgE in the development of allergic inflammation.@*Methods@#90 cases with asthma or rhinitis were enrolled as disease group, another 117 workers exposed to 7-ACA、6-APA dust without suffering from allergic illness, are chosen as group of dust exposed, and 192 healthy workers who didn’t contact dust were chosen as control group. Questionnaires were used to learn their basic information.Lung function was determined with a portable spirometer. The expression levels of periostin、ECP and IgE in serum were measured by enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assay.@*Results@#The exposure group and disease group had significantly lower forced vital capacity (FVC) , forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEVl.0) , and FEVl.0/FVC ratio than the control group (P<0.05) . The disease group had significantly higher eosinophil than the control group (P<0.05) . Compared with the control group, the exposure group, the disease group, asthma subgroup, rhinitis subgroup of serum periostin and IgE increased, the differences are statistically significant (P<0.05) . Serum levels of ECP in the workers of asthma subgroup were significantly higher than that in control group (P<0.05) . Serum expression levels of periostin were positively correlated with IgE, ECP in workers (P<0.001) , serum levels of periostin were negatively correlated with FEV1.0 in workers (P<0.05) . Multiple logistics regression analysis found that exposure to 7-ACA or 6-APA (OR=3.09, 95%CI: 1.83-5.21) , age>47years (OR=2.53, 95%CI: 1.22-5.26) , higher ECP (OR=1.04, 95%CI: 1.01-1.06) were risk factors for increased serum periostin level.@*Conclusion@#Occupational exposure to 7-ACA or 6-APA can result in higher serum periostin level, exposure to 7-ACA or 6-APA, age>47 years, higher ECP are risk factors for increased serum periostin level.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the health status of workers exposed to 7-aminocephalosporanic acid( 7-ACA) and6-aminopenicillanic acid( 6-APA) in an antibiotics enterprise. METHODS: Using simple random sampling method,207 workers exposed to 7-ACA and 6-APA from an antibiotic production enterprise were selected as the exposed group, and 162 workers with no dust exposure history from the same antibiotic production enterprise were selected as control group. Health examinations were performed. The health status of the workers were analyzed. RESULTS: The detection of symptoms( chest distress, shortness of breath, cough, wheezing, itchy skin) and allergic diseases( bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, allergic dermatitis) in exposed group were higher than those in control group( P < 0. 05). The lung function indexes such as forced vital capacity( FVC),forced expiratory volume in first second( FEV1) and FEV1/ FVC in the exposed group were lower than those in control group( P < 0. 05). There was no significant difference in the lung function indexes, respiratory and skin allergy symptoms, and allergic diseases between 7-ACA subgroup and 6-APA subgroup( P < 0. 017).The incidence of bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis had statistical differences in the length of dust exposure in service workers( P < 0. 05). CONCLUSION: Workers exposed to 7-ACA and 6-APA have a high occurrence rate of respiratory symptoms. These workers also suffered from occupational diseases such as bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis and others.

RESUMEN

In the present study different bacterial samples were isolated from soil of different places of Dibrugarh and screened for biotransformation ability to produce 6-Aminopenicillanic acid. Among ten isolated bacterial samples, three gram positive bacterial samples designated as AKDD-2, AKDD-4 and AKDD-6 showed the production of 6-APA from penicillin G. Assessment of production of 6-APA after incubation in penicillin G (2 mg/ml) by three different samples separately in free and agar immobilization state was done by HPLC analysis. Reusability of immobilized cells was found successful up to 14 days.

RESUMEN

Penicillin acylase was purified from Kluyvera citrophila and immobilized on glutaraldehyde derivatives of silanized controlled-pore ceramics. The behaviour of the enzyme attached to TiO2, Al2O3 and SiO2 in the hydrolytic reaction are compared with that of the native enzyme as well as of the enzyme bound to CNBr-activated Sepharose 4B. The enzyme immobilized on TiO2 shows an efficiency of about 95% on the basis of protein bound. The penicillin acylase attached to SiO2, unlike the enzyme immobilized on TiO2, Al2O3 and Sepharose looses activity markedly in every cycle of use.
