RESUMEN

Objective To study the therapeutic effect of Danshen injection combined with conventional therapy on children with recurrent asthmatic bronchitis. Methods A prospective study was conducted. Fifty-five children with asthmatic bronchitis admitted in People's Hospital of Henan Province from January 2012 to July 2014 were enrolled and randomly divided into a integrative Chinese and western medicine group(30 cases)and a conventional therapy group(25 cases);in the same period,18 healthy children having passed physical examinations were chosen as the healthy control group. In the conventional therapy group, rest, oxygen inspiration,anti-infection, fluid supplement and aerosol inhalation, etc. were given, while in the integrative Chinese and western medicine group, based on the similar conventional therapies, additionally Danshen injection 0.4 mL · kg-1 · d-1 was given, once per day for a total of 14 days. The wheezing remission time and the pulmonary rale extinction time were observed in the two patient groups, and the fractional exhaled nitric oxide(FeNO)content was investigated in the three groups. Results The wheezing remission time and the pulmonary rale extinction time of the integrative Chinese and western medicine group were obviously shortened compared with those in the conventional therapy group〔the wheezing remission time(days):2.3±0.8 vs. 5.2±1.1,the pulmonary rale extinction time(days):6.8±1.5 vs. 8.4±1.1,both P<0.01〕. The contents of FeNO in the integrative Chinese and western medicine group and the conventional therapy group before treatment were significantly higher than those in the healthy control group(×10-9:30.3±9.5,30.4±8.2 vs. 13.6±3.4,both P<0.01),but after treatment the FeNO levels of both patient groups were markedly lowered, and the degree of change in integrative Chinese and western medicine group was more significant(×10-9:18.6±4.7 vs. 24.0±6.8,P<0.01). Conclusion Danshen injection combined with conventional therapy can obviously down-regulate the FeNO content, alleviate the airway inflammation, effectively relieve the children recurrence of asthmatic bronchitis.

RESUMEN

Objective:To search for therapeutic effect of lidocaine in the treatment of acute episode of chronic asthmatic bronchitis. Methods:The 58 cases of patients with acute episode of chronic asthmatic bronchitis admitted to this hospital from August,2004 to July,2007 were divided into group A and group B.Besides group A with lidocaine and group B as control with sodium chloride solution, there were no difference in the other therapeutic measures between group A and Group B.Oxygen was used as the power of spray or aerosolizer, the flow volume of oxygen was 8-10L/min.Group A patients were given 5 milliliters of 2% lidocaine(100mg) by nebulized inhalation three times a day for three days, and Group B patients received 5 milliliters of 0.9% sodium chloride solution by nebulized inhalation three times a day for successive three days. The changes of heart rate, respiratory frequency, forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1),peak expiratory flow(PEF),partial pressure of oxygen in artery(PaO2) and partial pressure of carbon dioxide in artery(PaCO2) were determined in the group A and B before and after the nebulized inhalation therapy. Results:The results of the heart rate, respiratory frequency,FEV1,PEF,PaO2 and PaCO2 before and after the treatment of the nebulized inhalation were showed as follows, improvement of heart rate and respiratory frequency was more significant in the group with the nebulized inhalation treatment of lidocaine than that in the group as control after 30 minutes, one day and three days of therapy(P

RESUMEN

Objective:To study the total serum IgE level of infant's asthmatic diseases in acute attacks and its effect on the development of wheezing.Method:The serum IgE levels of 964 children(younger than two years old)diag- nosed as asthmatic bronchitis or bronehiolitis were measured by immune dispersion nephelometer.Result:78.9% childrens had high E levels(females took up 25.9% and males,74.1%),asthmatic bronchitis accounted for 92.3% of the total and bronehiolitis,60.3%.Of the 328 infants involved in our research,76 were diagnosed as asthma at last, which accoun- ted for 23.2%.Conclusion:78.9% infants had a high level of IgE in an acute phase. There was a prominent relativity be- tween IgE and the development of asthma. The increased IgE level of asthmatic bronchitis was obviously higher than that of the bronchiolitis. There appeared to be a connection between the IgE level and the occurrence of asthmatic bronchitis to- gether with the development of asthma.

RESUMEN

PURPOSE: This study was preformed to demonstrate the improvement of respiratory symptoms and pulmonary function parameters after albuterol inhalation in asthmatic bronchitis using pneumotachography. METHODS: Fifteen asthmatic bronchitis patients admitted to Ewha Womans University Hospital from September in 1998 to July in 1999 were enrolled in this study. Clinical symptoms and pulmonary function parameters including respiratory rate, heart rate, inspiratory tidal volume(Vi), expiratory tidal volume(Ve), peak tidal expiratory flow(PTEF), tidal expiratory flow at 25% of tidal volume(TEF25), mid-expiratory flow(MEF) and mid-inspiratory flow(MIF), compliance, and pulmonary resistance were evaluated by clinical symptom score and pneumotachography before and after albuterol inhalation treatment. RESULTS: The clinical score was decreased significantly after treatment, but heart rate did not show a significant difference. By flow-volume curve, Ve were 7.39+/-2.11 mL/kg, 9.39+/-3.20 mL/kg, and Vi were 7.44+/-2.08 mL/kg, 9.46+/-3.26 mL/kg, and PTEF were 130.1+/-82.1 mL/kg, 123.1+/-64.8 mL/kg before and after treatment, respectively. All the pulmonary function parameters showed no significant differences before and after treatment. CONCLUSIONS: Clinical symptoms were improved after albuterol inhalation treatment in asthmatic bronchitis, but pulmonary function was not recovered after a short-term treatment.
