RESUMEN

Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) has been widely used in the treatment of the complications of portal hypertension, and in recent years, with a deepened understanding of TIPS,covered stents have been further developed and applied in clinical practice, among which a special stent for TIPS,Viatorr covered stent, has become a focus of attention. This article reviews the application and effect of Viatorr stent and points out that Viatorr stent can establish intrahepatic shunt and thus significantly improve shunt patency rate.Meanwhile,it can reduce the risk of repeated intervention and rebleeding without increasing the incidence rate of hepatic encephalopathy and improve patients'quality of life.

RESUMEN

Objective To explore the security and the short term efficacy of VIABAHN stents in the treatment of branching area lesions in lower extremity arterial diseases. Methods The data of 16 patients (11 male and 5 female, aged 59.0 to 81.0 with median of 71.6) with lower extremity arterial occlusive disease from November 2014 to June 2015 were analyzed retrospectively. All lesions were located around the branching area of the lower extremity artery (3 cases in the internal iliac artery orifice, 6 cases in the deep femoral artery orifice and 7 cases in the vascular net around the knee). The short?term effects on these patients in the follow-up period, such as the success rate of surgical technique, the improvement of symptoms and the incidence of complications were summarized. Results Revascularization was technically successful in all 16 patients, and ischemic symptoms relieved significantly after the operation. The ABI were 0.36±0.12 before and 0.89±0.10 after the operation. The patients were followed up for 3 to 9 months (median 5.5 months). All the patients were achieved limb salvage and no complication occurred. Conclusions VIABAHN stent is safe and effective for the treatment of lower extremity arterial occlusive disease. The branches around the lesion can be covered with VIABAHN stents.

RESUMEN

Objective To study the role of cover-stent and embolization in the treatment of hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm following liver transplantation. Methods 5 patients with hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm after liver transplantation were treated with cover-stent and embolization between May 2010 and July 2013.The clinical features, imaging findings and complications were reviewed. Results All the 5 patients with hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm were successfully treated.2 patients with intrahepatic pseudoaneurysm received embolization.Of the 3 patients with extrahepatic pseudoaneurysm,2 received cover-stent treatment, and 1 patient received embolization. No complications related to the interventional treatment were encountered.2 patients died from multi-organ failure one month after the interventional treatment. Conclusion Cover-stent and embolization were effective and safe to treat patients with hepatic artery pseudoneurysm following liver transplantations.
