RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE To explore an effective cleaning method to improve the quality of sterilization,in order to control infections in the hospitals. METHODS To adopt orthogonal experimental forms of L_9(3~4) and take water temperature,cleaning agent type and cleaning method as experimental factors,in this way to investigate decontamination method for surgical instruments,using TOSI indicator cards and Browne STF load device to test the effectiveness of cleaning results. RESULTS It showed that by KQ-4200SY medical digital full-automatic ultrasonic cleaner with washing water at 33-35℃ an optimal cleaning result would be obtained. CONCLUSIONS It is practical to clean surgical instruments by KQ-4200SY medical digital full-automatic ultrasonic cleaner,and by TOSI indicator cards and Browne STF used as test method.

RESUMEN

O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o desempenho do método de descontaminaçäo de Ogawa - Kudoh e a técnica de "swab" em meio de Ogawa (MOK), paralelamente à metodologia tradicional de Petroff em meio de Lowenstein - Jensen (MP) para o isolamento de micobactérias de especimes clínicos de origem pulmonar e extrapulmonar. Foram analisadas 779 amostras de pacientes com suspeita clínica de tuberculose pulmonar e/ou micobacteriose. Destas, a positividade do MP foi de 13,96(por cento) e do MOK foi de 16,23(por cento) e a sensibilidade do MOK foi de 79(por cento) e a espcificidade 94(por cento). Observou-se ainda o crescimento das culturas mais rápido pelo MOK e uma menor contaminaçäo. Pelos resultados obtidos, associados à simplicidade e baixo custo do método, o mesmo apresentou condiçöes favoráveis de implantaçäo na rotina laboratorial dos laboratórios de Saúde Pública que apresentam escassos recursos humanos e materiais. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the performance of the Ogawa - Kudoh Decontamination and the Swab technique in Ogawa médium (OKM) compared to the traditional Petroff Methodology (PM) in Lowenstein - Jensen médium for the isolation of mycobacteria from pulmonary and extra-pulmonary clinica! specimens.779 samples frorn patients with clinical syntomps of pulmonary tuberculosis and/or mycobacterioses were studied.The positivity of PM and OKM was13,96% and 16,24%, respectively. OKM showed a sensitivity of 79% and a specificity of 94%. It was a!so observed a faster culture growth in OKM, and a lower contamination rate. According to the results obtained, sim- plicity and low cost of the method, we believe that it might be imp!anted as a routine method in Public Health Laboratory which usually presente scarce human and material resources.
