RESUMEN

Objetivo.- Establecer si los trastornos funcionales intestinales (TFI), influyen en la calidad de vida de los pacientes del Seguro Social Universitario La Paz. Materiales y métodos.- Se realizó el estudio en personal médico y paramédico del Seguro Social Universitario, desde diciembre del 2007 a febrero del 2008. Se analizaron 80 pacientes, de estos 40 casos presentaron algún tipo de Trastorno Funcional intestinal (50%), y 40 casos negativos (50%). Se analizaron solo los casos positivos. En todos se realizó encuestas con cuestionarios según consenso de Roma III, y cuestionario SF 36. Los datos fueron analizados según paquete estadístico (SPSS 11, 5, Chicago IL, USA). Resultados.- El trastorno funcional intestinal más frecuentemente encontrado fue el Síndrome de intestino irritable-variedad estreñimiento. El sexo femenino fue el más afectado con un porcentaje de 57,7%. El 32,5% de los pacientes que presentaron alguna variedad de TFI presentaron además disminución de la calidad de vida, frente a un 15,5% con alguna variedad de TFI, que no presentaron disminución de la calidad de vida. P < 0.005. Conclusiones.- El 32,5% de los pacientes que presentaron algún TFI presentaron además disminución de la calidad de vida, siendo el mas afectado el rol emocional seguido de la vitalidad, lo que demuestra la asociación importante entre los TFI y la calidad de vida de los pacientes, asociación significativa con una P < 0.005.


Objective.- To define if the Functional Bowel Disorders,(FBD) has a significant influence in the quality of life of the patients of University Social Security from La Paz. Methods and materials.- The study was carried out in paramedical and medical personnel of University Social Security, since December 2007 until February 2008. Were analyzed 80 patients, 40 cases of them showed some type of FBD with a value of 50%, and 40 negative cases 50%. There were analyzed only the positive cases; in all of them fulfilled inquiries with questionnaires according to Roma III consensus, and questionnaires SF 36. The data were analyzed according to statistical software SPSS - version 11, 5. Results.- The most frequent FBD found was the irritable bowel syndrome constipation variety; the female sex was the most sex affected with a value of 57%. The 32,5% ofthe patients that showed some variety ofFBD, besides showed diminishing of the quality of life, compared with 15,5% with some variety of FBD, that did not show a diminished quality of life (P< 0,005). Conclusions.- The 32,5% of patients that showed some variety of FDB showed besides diminishing of quality of life, being the most affected the emotional roll followed by the vitality, to which demonstrates the important association between the FBD and the quality of life of patients, with significant association with a P < 0.005.

RESUMEN

Objective To study on FBD (composed with Poria cocos, Atractylodes macrocephala, and Angelica sinensis) used to improve learning and memory function of animals. Methods The mice were treated by ig FBD with the doses of 35, 70 and 140 mg/kg for one week continuously. Effect of FBD on dysmnesia of acquired learning of mice induced by scopolamine, dysmnesia of memory retention of mice induced by NaNO2, and dysmnesia of reappearance of memory of mice induced by 45% ethanol were studied. Improvement for the dysmnesia of memory due to chronic blood deficiency in brain of rats induced by ligating the carotid arteries of two sides were observed. Results FBD can improve the dysmnesia of mice induced by scopolamine, NaNO2, and 45% ethanol significantly, also dysmnesia due to chronic blood deficiency in brain of rats induced by ligating the carotid arteries. Conclusion FBD has the function to improve the learning and memory function of animals.
