RESUMEN

Objective:To investigate the clinical effect and safety of mid-face lifting combined with compound fat transplantation in facial rejuvenation. Methods:From October 2016 to May 2020, 26 patients with mid-facial aging were enrolled, including 10 males and 16 females, with an average age of (47±6) years (38-65 years). The facial superficial musculoaponeurotic system was stripped, folded and suspended through the temporal hairline incision to lift the middle of the face. Liposuction was performed and compound fat was prepared, in which structural fat was injected into the area marked with loss of facial volume before operation, and extravascular matrix component gel was injected into the static wrinkle dermis. Six and 12 months after operation, the global aesthetic improvement scale of the observer and the global aesthetic improvement scale of the patient were scored, and the postoperative complications and patients' satisfaction were counted. Results:At the end of 6 months, improvements in mid face were reported in all patients by blinded reviewers. 12 months after operation, 53.8% (14 cases) of patients had significant improvement in facial aging, 30.8% (8 cases) had moderate improvement, and 15.4% (4 cases) had slight improvement; 25 patients (96%) were satisfied with the postoperative results. Postoperative hemorrhage occurred in one patient, scar hyperplasia occurred in one patient, and no obvious complications occurred in the other patients. Conclusions:The method of midface lifting combined with compound fat transplantation can improve the facial soft tissue and supplement the facial missing capacity, improve the static wrinkles of the face, and comprehensively solve the aging problem of midface. It has a definite clinical effect, fewer complications, and is safe and reliable. It has definite clinical effect with less complications.

The aim of this study is to perform a literature review about non-surgical facial lifting with PDS threads, addressing its variety of types, indications, organism degradation, insertion plan, contrain dications, advantages and possible complications. The researches were conducted in the Pubmed, Bi reme, Scielo, Sumários de Revistas Brasileiras and BVS data bases, selecting relevant articles available between 2005 and 2020. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, of the 44 articles found, 16 were selected for this study. Being used the following descriptors in Portuguese and English for research purposes: "Facial Harmonization", "Supporti Threads", "Face Lift". The use of facial support threads consists in a minimally invasive, painless, outpatient method, local anesthesia and imme diate effect. Faced with the possible risks that accompany the surgical facelift, people are looking for less invasive alternatives, such as the support wires. Although they cannot be considered as an alternative to conventional reparative surgery, patients often end up opting for a facelift because they feel safer, even with more modest results. It was observed that the use of PDO threads has been shown to be effective in facial rejuvenation when well indicated, despite the possibility of adverse effects, usually small and transient... RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Face-lifting procedures are often performed to hide the effects of aging. Thread-lifting, a minimally invasive technique for the correction of facial aging, has become increasingly popular, and various materials for the procedure have been developed. OBJECTIVE: This study compared tissue responses to two types of threading sutures placed under rat skin: polypropylene (PP) monofilament mesh suspension thread (a novel face-lifting material) and polydioxanone (PDO) barbed thread. METHODS: Eight rats each were assigned to the PP monofilament mesh suspension, PDO barbed thread, and control groups. Tissue reactions were evaluated 28 days after subcutaneous loading of the materials. RESULTS: Significant increases in tensile strength and the mean area occupied by collagen fibers were evident in skin loaded with PDO barbed thread and PP monofilament mesh suspension thread compared to control skin (p<0.05). Compared to sites loaded with PDO barbed thread, those loaded with PP monofilament mesh suspension thread showed a significant increase in the number of collagen fibers and a lower grade of inflammation (p<0.05). CONCLUSION: PP monofilament mesh suspension thread has skin-rejuvenating effects comparable to those of PDO barbed thread, but induces a less severe inflammatory response. This indicates that it is a safe and effective material for use in thread-lifting procedures on aging skin.

RESUMEN

Objective@#To explore the skin condition and histological changes after face lift based on extended subcutaneous and sub-SMAS undermining and multiple accurate plication of SMAS system.@*Methods@#Eighteen patients that underwent face lift were enrolled according to the inclusion and exclusion criterion. Objective, subjective and histological evaluations were performed to study the skin changes.@*Results@#Nine patients completed the study and skin condition improved significantly after face lift from the objective and subjective results. Histological evaluation revealed that epidermal thickness increased along with dermal collagen content. Collagen and elastic fibers were more condensed after surgery than before, suggesting the dermal regeneration after face lift.@*Conclusions@#Skin regeneration after face lift can help maintain the postoperative result. Extensive subcutaneous dissection along with removal of lax skin as much as possible are the key points of face lift.

RESUMEN

Objective@#This paper describes a technique of facelift that utilizes bidirectional barbed sutures for superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS) double plication. It corrects the facial aging of middle and lower part.@*Methods@#An extensive skin flap was undermined subcutaneously, and the sagging tissue of SMAS was lifted latero-superiorly by a secured barbed suture in two oval-shaped areas, with double plication, and without the need for knots, in order to correct the nasolabial groove and descended jowls, repositioning the midfacial volumes.@*Results@#A very high patient satisfaction was obtained in 76 patients. One patient had a small hematoma, and one patient had a temporary contour irregularity in the cheek. All resolved without any treatment.@*Conclusions@#The double plication facelift utilizing barbed sutures, mainly affects the middle and lower third of the face. Its advantages are: quick procedure, pleasant results, low complication rate, and short recovery period. It also eliminates the possibility of knot visibility, palpability, or extrusion.
