Kounis Syndrome: Case Report in Goiânia/BR

Abstract 22-year-old male patient with no heart disease, who was given an ambulatory medication with analgesics due to an acute renal crisis. After the drug administration, the patient presented dyspnea, cyanosis, and hemoptysis. There was suspicion of anaphylactic shock, which was treated, but there was no improvement in the clinical condition. The patient was referred to the Intensive Care Unit, where tests were performed showing elevated cardiac enzymes and Immunoglobulin E and Computed Tomography of Thoracic revealed alveolar hemorrhage. He developed clinical worsening and died after sepsis. The final diagnosis was of kounis syndrome due to the hypersensitivity reaction to the analgesics introduced in the patient, generating an acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The purpose of this case report was to highlight a syndrome that is little reported because it is not part of the differential diagnosis routines of ACS, but it generates important complications.

Experimental Studies on Isolated Heart Preservation with Jisheng Injection / 中药新药与临床药理

Objective To observe the effect of Jisheng injection(JI)in preserving isolated heart of mice.Methods Langendorff' s isolated -perfused mouse heart mod el was established.The isolated hearts were preserved in modified Eu-ro -Collins solution(MECS)and MECS with JI added for 3h,7.5h and8.5h respectively.Cardiac functio n,coronary flow and myocardial water -volume (MWV)were observed after 3h ,7.5h and 8.5h of preservation,heart reactivatio n(HR)rate,coronary flow,MWV and time for HR were also observed.Results After 3h of preservation and 20min,30min or 40min of reperfusion,cardiac function and coronary flow in three M ECS +JI groups and especially in that of large dose were improved as compared with t hose in MECS group;MWV in large -dose and moderate -dose groups was obvi-ously lower than that in MECS group(P

Effect of Active Components of Zhi Ga ncao Decoction and Their Combinatio n on Triggered Activity and Myocar-dial Damage in Isolated Ischemia -reperfusion Rat Heart / 中药新药与临床药理

Objective To observe the effect of active components(glycyrrhizic acid monoaminate,total ginsenoside and to-tal ophiopogonoside)of Zhi Gancao Decoction(ZGD)and their combination on the triggered activity and myocardial dam-age in the isolated ischemia -reperfusion rat heart.Methods Isolated rat heart was treated with L angendroff perfusion and monophase action potential technology was applied.Results &Conclusion Total extract of ZGD,single active c omponents and their combination can markedly l ower the incidence of cardiac triggered activity,prevent the myocardiu m from injury and decrease the incidence of arrhythmia induced by ischemia -reperfusion in rats and the effects of their com bination are positively related to the doses.
