RESUMEN

Introduction: The Department of Community Medicine has been training medical interns for providing hospital-based palliative care (HBPC) and community-based palliative care (CBPC) services with an interprofessional team. This study was done to evaluate the training program on palliative care developed for medical interns. Material and Methods: It was a retro-pre type of program evaluation done among 172 interns between January 2016 and December 2017. One day program was conducted for the interns by faculty trained in palliative care, followed by placement in HBPC and CBPC program. At the end of training, self-perceived improvement in knowledge was collected on a five-point Likert scale. Certificates were issued on completion. Data were entered and analyzed using Epi Info (version 7.2.2.6) software. Wilcoxon signed-rank test was applied between pre- and post-scores. Manual content analysis was done for open-ended questions. Results: The mean age of the participants was 22.5 ± 0.8 years, with 76 (44.2%) males and 96 (55.8%) females. There was statistically significant improvement in perceived knowledge scores after attending the training. Areas of learning, values learned, and uses of learning in future career and suggestions for improving the training program were the categories obtained. Conclusion: The training program improved the self-perceived knowledge on palliative care among medical interns. The exposure to HBPC and CBPC program had a positive effect on their attitude and perceived skills for caring of chronically ill patients. Such programs can be initiated by other palliative care providing institutions for training medical interns.

Compared to staff at regional core hospitals, those at the clinics and small hospitals had significantly higher AITCS scores, RIPLS scores, and workplace satisfaction, and they also considered their institutions to have better relationship with neighboring facilities. Conclusion: The staff of clinics and small hospital were more aware of interprofessional collaboration than hospital staff, and were more satisfied with their workplaces. RESUMEN

0bjective To translate and revise the Assessment of Interprofessional Team Collaboration Scale (AITCS) into Chinese, then to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of AITCS. Methods The Chinese version of AITCS was translated from the original one, back-translated and adjusted for cultural adaptation. The reliability and validity were tested among 288 nurses, 81 physicians, 25 respiratory therapists, 10 physical therapists and 3 nutritionists from a tertiary hospital in Hangzhou using convenience sampling. Results The average of scale-level content validity index was 0.98, unanimity of scale-level content validity index was 0.84 and item-level content validity index was 0.89-1.00. Exploratory factor analysis extracted three common factors, which explained 61.427% of the total variance, and each item had high factor loading quality (>0.4). The correlations coefficients between each dimension score and the total score ranged from 0.801 to 0.898 (P<0.05),and the correlations coefficients between each dimension score ranged from 0.607 to 0.698 (P<0.05). The Cronbach α of AITCS was 0.909, split-half reliability was 0.835 and test-retest reliability was 0.763. Conclusion The Chinese version of the AITCS has been proved to be reliable and valid. It is a valuable tool for evaluating interprofessional team collaboration among the health professional providers in mainland China.

Adoption is a much mentioned subject in several areas in present days, but the interdisciplinary teams are only cited and there are few specific studies on this topic. Based on the importance ofthe work developed by those teams, this study was carried out in order to make clear the work of the teams in the Court for Childhood and Youth (Vara da Infância e da Juventude) of three courts of midsize cities in the state of Paraná as well as their importance. This qualitative research used semi-structured interview and an academic professional training questionnaire to conduct the data collection. These were submitted to content analysis and after some reading we came up with three major topics containing the main categories defined: Teamwork Development; Teamwork Operation and Teamwork Perceptions. We concluded that besides being extremely important the composition of this team, which is made up of psychologists and social workers, the internal relationships and the work structure makes a difference in the adoption process.
