RESUMEN

Five new flavonoid derivatives, cajavolubones A-E (1-5), along with six known analogues (6-11) were isolated from Cajanus volubilis, and their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis and quantum chemical calculations. Cajavolubones A and B (1 and 2) were identified as two geranylated chalcones. Cajavolubone C (3) was a prenylated flavone, while cajavolubones D and E (4 and 5) were two prenylated isoflavanones. Compounds 3, 8, 9 and 11 displayed cytotoxicity against HCT-116 cancer cell line.

RESUMEN

Objective: For the purpose of finding new bioactive agents from Chinese herbal medicine, the chemical study on Psoralea corylifolia was carried out. Methods: The chemical constituents in the fruits of P. corylifolia were isolated by silica gel, MCI-GEL resin, Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography, and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) methods. The structures of compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic methods, including extensive 1D and 2D NMR techniques. Results: A new isoflavanone, 3R-6-hydroxy-8-(hydroxymethyl)-4',7-dimethoxy-dihydrogenisoflavone (1) was isolated from the fruit of P. corylifolia. Conclusion: Compound 1 is a new compound named corylisoflavone A, which displays the cytotoxicity against NB4, SH-SY5Y, PC3, A549, and MCF7 cells with IC50 values of 12.6, 5.3, 15.5, 4.8, and 11.2 μmol/L, respectively.

RESUMEN

Objective: To investigate the isoflavonoids from Dalbergia cochinchinensis. Methods: To isolate and purify the compounds by various column chromatographic methods. Spectral analysis was used to identify the structures. Results: Fourteen isoflavonoids were isolated and identified as sativanone (1), 7-hydroxy-2',4'-dimethoxyisoflavan (2), 4,7,2'-trihydroxy-4'- methoxyisoflavanol (3), 5,7-dihydroxy-2',3',4'-trimethoxyisoflavanone (4), formononetin (5), 2'-hydroxyformonetin (6), 2',5,7- trihydroxy-4'-methoxyisoflavone (7), genistein (8), 3'-O-methylviolanone (9), 3-hydroxyvestitone (10), biochanin A (11), homoferreirin (12), medicarpin (13), and isodarparvinol B (14), respectively. Conclusion: Compounds 3, 4, and 12 are isolated from the plants of Dalbergia Linn. f. for the first time, and compounds 1-2, 6-11, and 13-14 are isolated from this plant for the first time.

RESUMEN

Objective: To investigate the butanol fraction of the water/acetone extract and isolate of the new flavonoids from Launeae arboescens. Methods:The compounds were isolated by liquid chromatographic methods and their structures were identified by using spectroscopic analysis. Results:The isolated compounds were identified as: 7-O-[α-rhamnopyranosyl 4',5,6-Trihydroxy flavone 1,4’,5’-Di-Methoxy 7-(5’’-Me Hexan)1-oyl flavanone 2, 3”-isopropyl pyrano [1”:7,4”:6] 3’,4’,5’,5-Tetrahydroxy flavanone 3,5,4’,5’-Tri-Hydroxy 7-(3’’-Me butan) -yl flavanone 4, 5,7-Dihydroxy-2',4',5' –trimethoxy-isoflavanone 5,5,6,7,4'-tetrahydroxy flavonol 6,7-O-[α-rhamnopyranosyl-(1->6)-β-glucopyranosyl]- 4',5,7-tri-hydroxy-flavanone 7,7-O-[α-rhamnopyranosyl-(1->6)-β-glucopyranosyl] 3',5-Dihydroxy 4’-Methoxy flavanone 8. Conclusions:The presence of different types of bioactive flavonoids in Launeae arboescens extract can explain the large ethnopharmacological uses and the potential activity of this medicinal plant.
