RESUMEN

Marine natural products (MNPs) are the source of modern marine drugs, but they have the characteristics of strong guiding function and weak druggability. How to quickly and efficiently discover new bioactive MNPs and optimize their druggability is an important idea for the research and development of innovative marine drugs. This article has made some discussions and suggestions on this emphasis from the origin and characteristics of MNPs, marine microorganisms with specific productivity for MNPs and the strategies of microbial MNPs with high yields and diverse structures, as well as the structural modification for medicinal use of MNPs.

RESUMEN

Studying on marine natural products is a vibrant research area in the world. Due to their prevention and treatment effects on malignant tumor, cardiovascular disease and other major human diseases, marine natural products have become an important guidance to find the primary drugs. Recently, beneficial effects of marine natural products on treatment of metabolic syndrome related diseases have been intensively explored. Therefore, numbers of novel active products were found out and new mechanisms were revealed. This article reviews the research literature published after 2010 and summarizes the effects of marine natural products in metabolic syndrome related diseases, such as central obesity, insulin resistance, hyperlipidemia, hypertension and inflammation.

RESUMEN

Marine sponges are a family of important natural sources producing natural products with rich chemical diversity and significant bioactivities. In this paper, we summarizes the research progress of our group on the structural diversity and bioactivity of metabolites from the sponges collected in South China Sea to provide useful data for further discovery of lead compounds derived from marine organisms.

RESUMEN

The extracts of marine mollusks( Abalone, Aplysia, Sepia, Arcagranosa linnaeus, Cyclina sinensis, Myti-lus coruscus, Chlamys farrei, Meretrix meretrix, Ostrea, Sinonovacula constricta and Solen gradis) classified as poly-saccharides, proteins and peptides, possess the antitumor, anti-aging, and anti-bacterial activities. Cancer patients undergoing long-term chemotherapy usually suffer from the damage to vital organs, and resistances affecting the outcomes of chemotherapy. Therefore, it is imperative to search for anti-cancer drugs with low toxicity and high efficiency. At present, several marine mollusks are being studied. Summary on the antitumor activities of the marine mollusks extrats is presented, which might provide a basis for the development of marine anti-cancer drugs.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE Making knowledge of the marine medication animal species distribution and the resource situation in Zhoushan sea area. METHODS According the experiment explored, the marine animal specimen collected, checked, corrected. RESULTS There were about 103 species marine animal for medicating, included 4 species of Coelenterata, 3 species of Annelida, 14 species of Arthropoda, 21 species of Mollusca, 55 species of Vertebrata, 6 species of Echinodermate . CONCLUSIONS The reliable base of protecting ecological environment of marine organisms and exploiting resources of marine medicinal animals rationally were founded.

RESUMEN

A deep impact on the development of marine pharmaceutical science will be benefit- ed from the inter-disciplined combination of marine science and pharmaceutical science with information technology. Applications of such technologies as obtaining information trough Internet,database-on-the-Inter and virtual reality will greatly modify and accelerate the processes of discovering and developing marine drugs derived from marine bioresources. The concept of "virtual research on marine drug" was proposed for the first time in this paper, and the first professional net on marine drugs was build. The virtual research center for marine drugs was also build on the Internet and will be made more resourceful in the future.

RESUMEN

Using metnod of literature metrology, an analysis of papers citations in "Chinese Journal of Marine Drugs" from 1989 to 1993 was done. During the period there were altogether outgoing papers 181,papers citations 1301. The average values were each paper citations 7. 98. Among the rate of self-citation was 12. 76%. In the all citation, periodical 65. 1% ,books 27. 6% ,others 7. 3%. The languages ditiributions:Chinese 65. 72%, English 28. 13%,Japanese 5. 07%,Russian 0. 08%. The use rate of literature,Chinese 83. 27% ,and Foreign 45. 74% ,during the past 10 years. Papers citatians indicate that the marine drugs science workers of China can absorb consciously the information on science and technology of marine drugs.

RESUMEN

The Method of literature metrology was used for analysis of papers authors in " Chinese Journal of Marine Drugs " published from 1988 to 1993. There were altogether 275 out going papers published during those years and the authors of them were 788,thus, the average authors of each paper were 3. 07. The authors distribution was as follows; education institution 331, scientific research institution 254, medical institution 160, production enterprise 22 and other institution 21. The authors from coastal areas account for 83. 63 percent. Nineteen core authors were given. The jounal,in the main ,reflects the latest and the highest level of marine drugs science research work. The analysis results showed that " Chinese Journal of Marine Drugs " gives both its play to guidance of scientific researce and its impetus to the development of marine drugs undertaking in China.

RESUMEN

The ocean is a huge resource of organisms and about 80% of the world species live in it.Marine organisms synthesize various structurally-unique and pharmacologically-active metabolites which differ from those derived from the land organisms and serve as lead compounds for drug development.More than 15 000 new compounds have been isolated and identified from marine animals, plants and microorganisms since decades ago,and drugs like cephalosporins, ziconotide(Prialt),cytarabine(AraC) and vidarabine(AraA) were developed using these compounds as precursors.
