Resumo Introdução A agricultura no Brasil caracteriza-se pelo uso elevado de agrotóxicos. Os inseticidas organofosforados estão entre a classe de agrotóxicos mais intensamente aplicados. Objetivo: Estimar a ingestão de resíduo de agrotóxicos organofosforados por crianças e adultos, considerando o consumo da população brasileira e a recomendação diária de frutas e hortaliças (FH). Método Foram calculados a Estimativa Diária de Ingestão (EDI) e o percentual da Ingestão Diária Aceitável (%IDA) de acordo com a metodologia proposta pela WHO e FAO, em que %IDA > 100 caracteriza um possível risco de ingestão de agrotóxicos. Os dados sobre a concentração do agrotóxico no alimento foram obtidos do Programa de Análise de Resíduo de Agrotóxicos. Os dados sobre consumo do alimento e o peso corpóreo da população em estudo foram obtidos da Pesquisa de Orçamento Familiar de 2008-2009. A recomendação de ingestão de FH preconizada para uma dieta saudável foi de 400 gramas/dia. Resultados Com base no consumo alimentar da população brasileira, apenas o agrotóxico metidationa excedeu o parâmetro toxicológico de segurança para crianças. Caso o consumo de FH pela população brasileira alcançasse a recomendação da WHO, seis agrotóxicos excederiam o %IDA para crianças: diazinona, dicofol, dimetoato, metamidofós, metidationa e protiofós. Já para adultos, três agrotóxicos excederiam o %IDA: dicofol, metamidofós e metidationa, deflagrando o uso indiscriminado desses inseticidas. Conclusão A promoção do consumo de FH deve vir acompanhada de programas de monitoramento da comercialização, do uso desses agentes químicos e dos seus resíduos nos alimentos.


Abstract Background The agriculture of Brazil is characterized by the high use of pesticides. Among the most intensely applied pesticides is the class of organophosphate insecticides. Objective: Estimate organophosphate pesticide ingestion in children and adults considering the consumption and daily recommended intake of fruits and vegetables (FV). Method Estimated Daily Intake (EDI) and percentage of Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI) were calculated according to the methodology proposed by WHO and FAO, where % ADI >100 features possible risk of pesticide ingestion. Data on pesticide residue in food obtained from the Pesticide Residue Analysis Program were used. National diet and body weight data of the studied population were obtained from the Household Budget Survey of 2008-2009. The recommended FV intake for a healthy diet used in this study was 400 grams/day. Results Based on the Brazilian population's daily food intake, methidathion was the only pesticide to exceed the toxicology standard for children. If the FV intake reached the level recommended by WHO, six pesticides would exceed the %ADI for children: diazinon, dicofol, dimethoate, methamidophos, methidathion and prothiofos, and three pesticides would exceed the %ADI for adults: dicofol, methamidophos, and methidathion, showing the excessive use of these chemicals. Conclusion Encouragement of FV consumption must be accompanied by programs that monitor the commercialization and use of these pesticides, as well as their residues in food.

This paper reports the residual status of forbidden and restricted pesticides of organophosphorus in Loincerae Japonicae Flos to provide reference for the risk control and the formulation of maximum residue limits of the flower. A method for the determination of residues of 23 forbidden and restricted pesticides of organophosphorus was established, and 64 collected samples were tested. Then a risk assessment based on the maximum residue limit was carried out. Results showed that the detection rate of samples was 58%. 6 of 23 pesticides were detected and the ratio was chlorpyrifos 41%, omethoate 23%, triazophos 11%, isofenphos-methyl 6.3%, methamidophos 1.6%, isocarbophos 1.6%, respectively. And the median of pesticide residues in the positive samples was chlorpyrifos 0.037 mg·kg⁻¹, omethoate 0.043 mg·kg⁻¹, triazophos 0.030 mg·kg⁻¹, isofenphos-methyl 0.18 mg·kg⁻¹, methamidophos 0.041 mg·kg⁻¹, isocarbophos 0.041 mg·kg⁻¹, respectively. In the samples with pesticide residues, the residue amount of methamidophos and isocarbophos was lower than the theoretical maximum residue limit, and the residue amount of chlorpyrifos, isofenphos-methyl, triazophos were higher than it individually, while, all the residue amount of omethoate was higher than it. According to the assessment result of theoretical maximum residue limit, it is suggested that relevant departments should accelerate the formulation of the maximum residue limit standard, and strengthen the supervision of the use of forbidden and restricted pesticides of organophosphorus in Loincerae Japonicae Flos.

RESUMEN

Antibiotics are widely used for the treatment of dairy cows and the residues of these drugs may remain in milk and dairy products, which can be a potential threat to human health. Exposure to low levels of antibiotics is considered a public health problem as this may result in the development of resistant strains of human bacteria. The presence of antibiotic residues (AR) in milk is also a problem for the dairy industry as they can inhibit the growth of lactic bacteria. According to Brazilian legislation, antimicrobials should be used in accordance with Good Farming Practices. However, recent studies have reported contamination in milk marketed in the country. This work aimed to review studies, published over the last 10 years, which describe AR in milk marketed in Brazil. The Maximum Residue Limit, the methods for quantification of AR and the results of published studies by authors and government agencies are discussed.


Los antibióticos se utilizan ampliamente para el tratamiento de las vacas lecheras y los residuos de estos medicamentos pueden permanecer en la leche y los productos lácteos, los que pueden ser una amenaza potencial para la salud humana. La exposición a bajos niveles de antibióticos se considera un problema de salud pública ya que pueden resultar en el desarrollo de cepas resistentes de bacterias humanos. De acuerdo con la legislación brasileña, los antimicrobianos deben ser utilizados de acuerdo con las Buenas Prácticas Agrícolas. Sin embargo, estudios recientes han informado de la contaminación de la leche comercializada en el país. Este trabajo tuvo como objetivo revisar los estudios publicados en los últimos 10 años, que describen residuos de antimicrobianos en la leche comercializada en Brasil. Se discuten los límites máximos de residuos, los métodos para la cuantificación y los resultados de los estudios publicados por autores y agencias gubernamentales.

Antecedentes: En Colombia, la vigilancia del cumplimiento de los Límites Máximos de Residuos LMRs de antimicrobianos veterinarios en carne bovina es exigua, debido a que la capacidad analítica es insuficiente para monitorear un gran número de muestras y un amplio rango de antibióticos. El bioensayo es un método microbiológico desarrollado por la agencia de salud pública (FSIS) del Departamento de Agricultura de Estados Unidos, para la detección, identificación y semicuantificación de residuos antimicrobianos. Objetivos: Se evaluó preliminarmente el bioensayo para determinar su uso como prueba de detección cualitativa para el monitoreo y vigilancia de residuos de cuatro antimicrobianos en músculo bovino, como contribución al sistema de gestión de inocuidad en el marco del Acuerdo sobre la aplicación de Medidas Sanitarias y Fitosanitarias, bajo lineamientos de la Comisión Europea, Decisión 2002/657/CE. Métodos: El protocolo de experimentación usó tejidos fortificados con diferentes concentraciones de penicilina G potásica, oxitetraciclina, eritromicina y estreptomicina, como representantes de cuatro familias de antibióticos de uso veterinario en Colombia. Para el establecimiento de los criterios de funcionamiento del bioensayo se prepararon seis repeticiones de cada uno de los niveles o concentraciones probadas por antimicrobiano, incluyendo un nivel sin fortificación y cinco niveles de concentraciones antibióticas menores, iguales y superiores al Límite Máximo de Residuos LMRs de cada uno de los antimicrobianos analizados. Resultados: Se establecieron preliminarmente los criterios de funcionamiento del método (especificidad, límites de detección y estabilidad). La técnica mostró excelente especificidad (ningún falso-positivo); los límites de detección se determinaron para los cuatro antibióticos con relación a sus respectivos LMRs: Betalactámicos (penicilina G =LMR), tetraciclinas (oxitetraciclina =LMR), macrólidos (eritromicina =LMR) y aminoglucósidos (estreptomicina >4 LMR); sin embargo, la sensibilidad del bioensayo para estreptomicina no fue satisfactoria. La estabilidad de los analitos en la matriz fortificada al límite de detección, resultó adecuada durante el período de tiempo evaluado. Conclusiones: El método del bioensayo preliminarmente evaluado es aplicable a la detección de una amplia gama de residuos antimicrobianos en músculo bovino, a concentraciones iguales a los LMRs.


Background: In Colombia, the vigilance of the Maximum Residue Limits MRLs of veterinary antimicrobials in cattle meat is limited, because the analytical capacity is insufficient to monitor a large number of samples and a wide range of antibiotics. The bioassay is a microbiological method developed by the health public agency (FSIS) of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the detection, identification and semiquantification of antimicrobial residues in cattle muscle. Objective: It was evaluated preliminary the bioassay for use as a test for the qualitative detection for monitoring and surveillance of four antimicrobials in cattle muscle, as contribution to the inocuity management system within the agreement framework about the application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures; using some guidelines of the European Decision 2002/657/EC. Methods: The experimental protocol used fortified tissues with varying concentrations of penicillin G potassium, oxytetracycline, erythromycin and streptomycin, as representatives of the four important families of veterinary antibiotics used in Colombia. To establish the performance criteria of the bioassay were prepared six replicates of each of the levels or concentrations tested for antimicrobial, including a level without fortification and five levels of lower antibiotic concentrations, equal and above MRL Maximum Residue Limit for each one of the tested antimicrobials. Results: The performance characteristics of method were preliminarily determined (specificity, detection limits and stability). The test showed excellent specificity (no false positive); detection limits were determined for the four antibiotics in relation to their respective Maximum Residue Limit MRLs: Beta-lactams (penicillin G =MRL), tetracyclines (oxytetracycline =MRL), macrolides (erythromycin =MRL) and aminoglycosides (streptomycin >4 MRL); however, the sensitivity of bioassay for the streptomycin was unsatisfactory. Stability of the analytes in the matrix was adequate during the period evaluated. Conclusions: The preliminary bioassay method evaluated is applicable to the detection of a broad range of antimicrobial residues in bovine muscle at concentrations at the MRLs.
