Recusa ao ato na adolescência: uma reação subjetiva negativa? / Refusal to acting in adolescence: a negative subjective reaction?

Estuda-se a questão da violência psíquica na adolescência, em certas patologias do ato, em particular as situações clínicas marcadas pelo negativo desse registro: a recusa radical no plano do agir. Isto se vê na morosidade no ingresso na vida adulta, na conduta de retraimento de certos adolescentes que parecem resistir à superação da condição adolescente. Apesar da aparente contradição, situa-se o recurso ao ato e a recusa ao agir no campo das patologias do ato: o ego atua uma defesa extrema em cuja base insiste uma dimensão traumática, de passividade ante a pulsão.

Refusal to acting in adolescence: a negative subjective reaction?. We study the issue of psychological violence in adolescence, in certain pathologies of the act, particularly the clinical situations marked by the negative of that register: the radical refusal to acting. This is manifested in the delay in entering adulthood, in the withdrawal behavior of certain adolescents who seem to resist overcoming the adolescent condition. In spite of the apparent contradiction, we place the resource to the act and the refusal to acting in the clinical field of the pathologies of the act: the ego acts in an extreme defense, which in its basis has the insistence of a traumatic dimension of passiveness in front of the drive.

Assertividade e autocontrole: interpretação analítico-comportamental / Assertiveness and self-control: a behavior-analytic interpretation

Questões relacionadas à assertividade têm recebido atenção por parte de terapeutas comportamentais há mais de três décadas. É mais recente, porém, o esforço de terapeutas analítico-comportamentais para examinar problemas dessa ordem com os mesmos recursos conceituais e metodológicos empregados por seus pares da pesquisa básica e conceitual. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo oferecer uma interpretação analítico-comportamental para padrões de comportamento assertivos, agressivos e passivos. Recuperamos algumas definições de assertividade/agressividade/passividade e examinamos os fenômenos correspondentes enquanto relações comportamentais; discutimos alguns aspectos da abordagem analítico-comportamental para o autocontrole; e sugerimos que as relações comportamentais definidas como assertividade/agressividade/passividade podem ser interpretadas enquanto instâncias de autocontrole ou impulsividade. A abordagem pode abrir novas perspectivas de investigação clínica de habilidades sociais sob um enfoque analítico-comportamental.

Issues related to assertiveness have been investigated by behavior therapists for over three decades. It is more recent, however, the effort made by behavior-analytic therapists to examine such issues with the same conceptual and methodological tools employed by their colleagues in basic and conceptual research. This study aims to provide a behavior-analytic interpretation of assertive, aggressive and passive behavior patterns. We recovered some definitions of assertiveness/aggressiveness/passiveness and then examined the corresponding phenomena as behavioral relations, discussed some aspects of the behavior-analytic approach of self-control, and suggested that behavioral relations defined as assertiveness/aggressiveness/passiveness may be interpreted as instances of self-control or impulsiveness. Such approach may give rise to new directions in clinical research of social skills from a behavior-analytic standpoint.
