RESUMEN

Pedunculated lipofibroma is a rare benign hamartomatous condition that is characterized by ectopic adipose tissue in the dermis and a solitary form of nevus lipomatosus cutaneous superficialis. We describe here a neonate with congenital pedunculated lipofibroma. The lesion was removed by simple excision.

RESUMEN

Nevus lipomatosus cutaneous superficialis is a fairly uncommon form of connective tissue disorder, and this is characterized by the ectopic deposition of fat lobules in the dermis. There are two clinical variants: the multiple and solitary types. Particularly for the case of the solitary forms, it seems preferable to regard them instead as pedunculated lipofibromas. We report here on a case of a nipple shaped solitary nevus lipomatosus cutaneous superficialis, and we also review the Korean cases. Till now, 22 cases in Koreahave been reported as a solitary nevus lipomatosus cutaneous superficialis and a pedunculated lipofibroma, or both. The review of the Korean cases revealed that solitary nevus lipomatosus cutaneous superficialis almost always exhibits a single skin-colored dome shaped or pedunculated nodule on the thigh and buttock, as well as on the non-girdle area after the 4th decade, and it has no histopathological difference from the multiple forms.

RESUMEN

Nevus lipomatosus superficialis is an uncommon form of connective tissue nevus and is manifest principally by the deposition of fatty tissue in the dermis. In this disease two clinical types are distinguished. The classic type consists of asymptomatic linear, soft, flesh-colored to yellowish papules or nodules that often coalesce into plaque. It is usually located in the pelvic girdle and lumbar area. The solitary form usually appears later in life and can occur at any site. Clinically, it may be confused with neurofibroma and acrochordon. The solitary form has been described as a pedunculated lipofibroma. There is no sexual predilection or hereditary trend. The authors experienced two cases of solitary nevus lipomatosus superficialis. The first case was a 57-year-old male who had a solitary, 1 cm-diametered, flesh-colored, polypoid nodule on the buttock for 4 years. The second case was a 32-year-old female who had a 1.5 cm-diametered, flesh-colored and light brown, polypoid nodule on the right flank for 10 years. Diagnosis was confirmed by clinical and histopathologic findings.

RESUMEN

Pedunculated lipofibroma is a rare disorder characterized by ectopic deposits of mature adipose tissue in the dermis. It is a dorne shaped or sessile papule which occurs at any site and develops later in life. We, herein, report two cases of pedunculated lipofibroma which have developed on the chin of a 64-year-old man and the buttock of a 47-year-old woman.

RESUMEN

A 45-year-old woman had a bean-sized, asymptomatic, soft nodule on the right buttock for 4 years. Histopafhologic evaluation revealed acanthosis and a central core of adipose tissue with thin papillary and reticular dermis containing eccrine glands. Staining with alcian blue showed a slight increase of mucopolysaccharides in the reticular dermis. We made the diagnosis of pedunculated lipofibroma as a solitary form of nevus lipomatosus superficialis.
