A new oligolectic bee species of the genus Rhophitulus Ducke (Hymenoptera, Andrenidae) from South Brazil

ABSTRACT The genus RhophitulusDucke, 1907 is a large and complex group of bees of the tribe Protandrenini comprising small, slender, mostly black ground-nesting species that are restricted to South America. We describe a new species of Rhophitulus from Parque Nacional São Joaquim, Urubici, state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Rophitulus ater sp. nov. is distinctive and easily distinguished from other species of the genus by a unique combination of morphological characters in both sexes, but especially by the following: dull black body, coarsely and densely punctate integument, basal area of metapostnotum depressed and areolate rugose, posterior margin of hind tibia and pygidial fimbria of female with blackish pilosity, and characters of the male genitalia with hidden sterna. The new species is closely associated with Blumenbachia catharinensis (Loasaceae), which is restricted to cloud forest of the southeastern rim of Serra Geral. Flowers of B. catharinensis are pollen and nectar resources and mating sites for the new species.

São descritas e ilustradas as seguintes espécies: A calderensis sp. nov., A. cordobensis sp. nov., A. gibberosus sp. nov., A. neffi sp. nov., A. punctatus sp. nov., A. saltensis sp. nov., A. sanpedroi sp. nov., A. tucumanus sp. nov. e A. villaguayensis sp. nov. É apresentada uma chave para a sua identificação.

Anthrenoides calderensis sp. nov., A. cordobensis sp. nov., A. gibberosus sp. nov., A. neffi sp. nov., A. punctatus sp. nov., A. saltensis sp. nov., A. sanpedroi sp. nov., A. tucumanus sp. nov. and A. villaguayensis sp. nov. are described and illustrated. A key to identify the species is presented.

Espécies novas de Anthrenoides Ducke (Hymenoptera, Apidae, Andreninae) do Rio Grande do Sul e notas descritivas / New species of Anthrenoides Ducke (Hymenoptera, Apidae, Andreninae) from Rio Grande do Sul and descriptive notes

Anthrenoides alineae sp. nov., A. birgitae sp. nov., A. elioi sp. nov., A. francisci sp. nov., A. gibbosus sp. nov., A. kelliae sp. nov., A. paulensis sp. nov., A. sidiae sp. nov. e A. sulinus sp. nov., assim como as fêmeas de A. magaliae Urban, 2005 e de A. reticulatus Urban, 2005 são descritas e ilustradas. São acrescentados novos dados sobre a distribuição geográfica de Anthrenoides e, também uma chave para a identificação das espécies do Rio Grande do Sul.

New data on geographical distribution of Anthrenoides and a key to the species from Rio Grande do Sul are also given.

Ten new species of Anthrenoides are described: A. affinis sp. nov., A. alvarengai sp. nov., A. bocainensis sp. nov., A. digitatus sp. nov., A. falsificus sp. nov., A. flavomaculatus sp. nov., A. glossatus sp. nov., A. jordanensis sp. nov., A. labratus sp. nov. and A. lavrensis sp. nov. New occurrences and a key to the species known to occur in southeastern Brazil are given.

Dez espécies novas de Anthrenoides são descritas: A. affinis sp. nov., A. alvarengai sp. nov., A. bocainensis sp. nov., A. digitatus sp. nov., A. falsificus sp. nov., A. flavomaculatus sp. nov., A. glossatus sp. nov., A. jordanensis sp. nov., A. labratus sp. nov. e A. lavrensis sp. nov. São relacionadas novas ocorrências e é proposta uma chave para a identificação das espécies conhecidas dessa região.
