Este artigo descreve o surgimento e a expansão dos saraus de poesia que vêm ocorrendo em bares da periferia paulistana ao longo da última década. O artigo relaciona-os a outros movimentos culturais, como o hip-hop, e apresenta a transformação das pessoas que se envolvem nesse processo de criação poética.

This paper describes the emergence and expansion of the poetry reading sessions that have been held in the suburb of Sao Paulo throughout the last decade. They are related to other cultural movements, such as hip-hop, and this paper presents the transformation of the people who are involved in this process of poetic creation.
