RESUMEN

Objective:To preliminarily develop a fertility motivation scale for infertile women (FMS-IW) and test its reliability and validity. Methods:The FMS-IW was developed according to the theory of self-determination and Maslow's hierarchy of needs, and the original item pool was established through clinical psychological counseling practice experience, literature review, consulting clinical psychotherapists, interviewing with infertile women and open-ended questionnaires. The original scale was constructed on item analysis and exploratory factor analysis in 257 infertile women. The formal version of FMS-IW was further adapted by Delphi method and tested in another 392 women to conduct confirmatory factor analysis and reliability test. Furthermore, 56 participants of 392 women were randomly retested with FMS-IW after two weeks.SPSS 25.0 and Amos 24.0 software were used for Spearman analysis, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. Results:Exploratory factor analysis showed that the FMS-IW was composed of 16 items consisting of two factors: autonomous fertility motivation and controlled fertility motivation. The cumulative variance contribution rate was 64.18%. Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the model fitted well ( χ2/ df=3.292, RMSEA=0.077, SRMR=0.055, GFI=0.902, AGFI=0.871, IFI=0.938, CFI=0.938, TLI=0.928). The Cronbach's α coefficient of the FMS-IW was 0.908. The Cronbach's α coefficient for autonomous and controlled fertility motivation was 0.911 and 0.928, respectively. The parity split-half coefficient of the formal version of FMS-IW was 0.870. The test-retest reliability of the formal version of FMS-IW was 0.823. Conclusion:The FMS-IW has good reliability and validity, and can be used as an effective tool to measure fertility motivation in infertile women.

RESUMEN

Abstract Student engagement is a key factor in academic achievement and degree completion, though there is much debate about the operationalization and dimensionality of this construct. The goal of this paper is to describe the development of an psycho-educational oriented measure – the University Student Engagement Inventory (USEI). This measure draws on the conceptualization of engagement as a multidimensional construct, including cognitive, behavioural and emotional engagement. Participants were 609 Portuguese University students (67 % female) majoring in Social Sciences, Biological Sciences or Engineering and Exact Sciences. The content, construct and predictive validity, and reliability of the USEI were tested. The validated USEI was composed of 15 items, and supported the tri-factorial structure of student engagement. We documented evidence of adequate reliability, factorial, convergent and discriminant validities. USEI’s concurrent validity, with the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale-Student Survey, and the predictive validity for self-reported academic achievement and intention to dropout from school were also observed.

Human happiness is complex, and in interpersonal terms, particularly in a relationship, there are many elements involved (Argyle, 1987). But there is no scale to measure happiness in the couple, therefore, the objective was to develop and validate a scale of happiness in the couple, culturally appropriated and reliable. The research was conducted in two phases. In the first phase, a scale for happiness in the couple was developed and reliability and validity were obtained; in the second phase, we performed a second-order factor analysis. The results showed a valid and reliable scale that measures the evaluation of happiness in the couple as well as the elements needed for a couple to be happy.

The purpose of this study is to verify the validity and reliability of the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD) Scale. A sample of 642 participants, aged 12 to 68 years, whose schooling varied from 6 years of basic education to postgraduate studies. The Scale was composed by 115 items and distributed in 5 subscales: Attention Deficit, Hyperactivity, Impulsivity, Disruptive Behavior and Emotional Disturbs. The factorial analysis showed that a single factor could explain the variability of almost all results. The internal consistency coefficient was 0.95. In conclusion, this scale appeared to be a useful tool to make the diagnosis of ADHD in adolescent and adult life.

The public speaking fear constitutes a recognizable subtype of social phobia in epidemiologicstudies. This type of social anxiety may have a negative impact on the lives of many individuals. Here in our country, not exist at the moment none self-rating scale who evaluate the severepublic speaking fear relate with the social phobia diagnosis. Because of this limitation, wedeveloped the D'El Rey Public Speaking Fear Scale (EDMF), a 10-item self-rating scale. Thisreport describes theoretical elaboration and semantic analysis of the EDMF. Thirty nine personsof both sexes and diverses educational levels (25 controls and 14 non-generalized social phobics public speaking fear) participed of the semantic analysis study. None person show comprehensiondifficulties of EDMF item. The scale now read to psychometric validation
